Municipal Borough of Barnes
Barnes was a local government district in north west Surrey from 1894 to 1965. It was formed as an urban district in 1894 and became a municipal borough in 1932. It contained the settlements of Barnes, Mortlake and East Sheen. It was part of the London postal district and Metropolitan Police District. The district was bounded by the County of London to the east, the River Thames and Middlesex to the north, and the Municipal Borough of Richmond to the west and south.
Chiswick Bridge
Chiswick Bridge is a reinforced concrete deck arch bridge over the River Thames in West London. One of three bridges opened in 1933 as part of an ambitious scheme to relieve traffic congestion west of London, it carries the A316 road between Chiswick on the north bank of the Thames and Mortlake on the south bank. Built on the site of a former ferry, the bridge is 606 feet long and faced with 3,400 tons of Portland stone.

The Polytechnic Stadium

Dukes Meadows
Dukes Meadows is a riverside park in Chiswick, London. The land was purchased from the Duke of Devonshire in 1923. A seaside-type promenade and a bandstand were built alongside the riverfront and opened by the Duke of York in 1926. In 1998 a group of local people formed the Dukes Meadows Trust to protect the interests of the park.
