Victoria line
The Victoria line is a deep-level London Underground route running from the south to the north-east of London. It is coloured light blue on the Tube map. Unlike most other lines on the Underground, it runs entirely below ground with the exception of the connection between Seven Sisters and the line's depot at Northumberland Park.
St. Mary's Church, Walthamstow
St. Mary’s Church, Walthamstow is in Walthamstow Village, a conservation area in Walthamstow, London. It was founded in the 12th century and is still a working church. It retains over one hundred and fifty brasses and monuments, the oldest dating from 1436, though all that now remains of the original Norman church is some pillar bases and the chisel marks on them.
William Morris Gallery
The William Morris Gallery, opened by Prime Minister Clement Attlee in 1950, is the only public museum devoted to English Arts and Crafts designer and early socialist William Morris. The gallery is located at Walthamstow in Morris's family home from 1848 to 1856, the former Water House, a substantial Grade II* listed Georgian dwelling of about 1750 which is set in its own extensive grounds. The Gallery underwent major redevelopment and reopened in August 2012.
Walthamstow Stadium
Walthamstow Stadium was a greyhound racing track located in the London Borough of Waltham Forest in east London and was one of a limited number of remaining greyhound race tracks operating in Greater London. The track closed in August 2008, despite assurances from the owners in December 2007 that no deal had been made to sell the track and that racing would continue for years.
Municipal Borough of Walthamstow
Walthamstow was a local government district in south west Essex, England from 1894 to 1965, around the town of Walthamstow. It was within the London suburbs, forming part of the London postal district and Metropolitan Police District. Its former area now corresponds to the central part of the London Borough of Waltham Forest in Greater London.
Vestry House Museum
Vestry House Museum is the local history museum for the London Borough of Waltham Forest, and stands within the village of Church End, Walthamstow. This secluded area still preserves a rural atmosphere, although it lies only a quarter of a mile from Walthamstow's main shopping centre and barely six and a half miles from the City of London. Vestry House, a two-storey building of brown stock brick, was constructed in 1730 as a workhouse by order of the Walthamstow Vestry.
River Ching
The River Ching originates in Epping Forest, and runs to the River Lea, but not before being severely polluted in its lower reaches. It is dammed twice, the first time to form Connaught Water, in the parishes of Loughton and Waltham Abbey, and again at Highams Park. Green Pond Road
Green Pond Road was a stadium in Walthamstow, London. This was Walthamstow Avenue F.C. 's ground for many years until they merged with Leytonstone & Ilford to form Redbridge Forest, a precursor to Dagenham & Redbridge. The stadium's record attendance was 21,708 for Turkey v China in the 1948 Summer Olympics football tournament. The ground was often simply called 'The (Green) Pond'.

Walthamstow bus station
Walthamstow Bus Station serves the Walthamstow area of the Waltham Forest, London, England. The station is owned and maintained by Transport for London. The station can be accessed from both Selbourne Road and High Street as well as Walthamstow Central tube station. The bus station opened in June 2005 replacing the previous bus station on this site. It cost £6 million and has improved interchange access with both the tube and rail stations at Walthamstow Central.
EMD (Granada) Walthamstow
The EMD (Granada) cinema on Hoe Street, Walthamstow, was opened on 15 September 1930. There has been an arts venue on the site for over 100 Years. The original building opened in May 1887 as a meetings and performing arts venue. The (original) cinema was one of the first venues to screen a film in the year of film's birth, 1896. It was made into the area's first full time cinema in 1906.

Crumstone Irma
Crumstone Irma, aka Irma, was an Alsatian who assisted in the rescue of 191 people trapped under blitzed buildings while serving with London's Civil Defence Services during the Second World War. During this period she worked with her handler and owner, Mrs Margaret Griffin, and another dog named Psyche. Noted for her ability to tell if buried victims were dead or alive, she was awarded the Dickin Medal in 1945, and is buried at the PDSA Animal Cemetery, Ilford.
Peter (dog)
Peter (1941–1952) was a collie dog who in 1945 was awarded the Dickin Medal, considered to be the Victoria Cross for animals. During the later stages of the Second World War he served as a search and rescue dog in London. He attended the 1946 Civil Defence Stand–Down parade, where he was presented to the King and Queen, and Princess Elizabeth. His medal was auctioned in 2000 for £4,600 (US$6,964).
