Southend-on-Sea
Southend-on-Sea is a unitary authority area, town, and seaside resort in Essex, England. The district has Borough status, and comprises the towns of Chalkwell, Eastwood, Leigh-on-Sea, North Shoebury, Prittlewell, Shoeburyness, Southchurch, Thorpe Bay, and Westcliff-on-Sea. The district is situated within the Thames Gateway on the north side of the Thames estuary 40 mi east of central London. It is bordered to the north by Rochford and to the west by Castle Point.
Royal Saxon tomb in Prittlewell
The Royal Saxon tomb in Prittlewell is a high-status Anglo-Saxon tomb excavated at Prittlewell, north of Southend-on-Sea, in the English county of Essex. In the autumn of 2003, in preparation for a road-widening scheme, an archaeological survey was carried out on a plot of land to the north-east of Priory Park in Prittlewell. The archaeologists were lucky in the placement of their trench and uncovered a set of Saxon remains.

Beecroft Art Gallery

The Edwardian building was donated to the people of Southend-on-Sea in 1952 by Walter Beecroft to house his eclectic collection of art works . Walter Beecroft was a solicitor in nearby Leigh. He had already set up an Art Gallery Sub-Committee of the Public Libraries & Museum Committee in 1928, and in 1947 he proposed to endow a building to become and Art Gallery.

It is open Monday to Friday 05:45 to 22:00 and has a cycle rack for 15 bicycles, a taxicab stand, and a car park with 50 parking spaces and 3 disabled spaces.
Cliffs Pavilion
Cliffs Pavilion is a live theatre in Station Road, Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, England, which seats 1,630 and offers an assortment of variety acts. Work began on the original Cliffs Pavilion during the 1930s. It was intended to be a 500 seat theatre incorporating the art deco style of the times. With the outbreak of World War II, however, the building work halted. The site remained boarded-up until 1959, when the original building was leveled.
Prittlewell Square
Prittlewell Square, an elegant garden, is a park situated in the conservation area overlooking the Thames Estuary at Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, England. The oldest park in town, it contributes to the history of the gardens. The clock at the entrance to the Square was donated by local jeweller and philanthropist, R A Jones. The Square lies within the Clifftown Conservation Area, which was designated in 1968 due to the historic and architectural significance of the area .

The original "Westcliff" and "Waterfront" Casinos were established in the 1970s and it was originally at the Mill House in Station Road. It opened at its present site, formerly an open air swimming pool and then a boat deck as part of The Westcliff Leisure Centre, in 1987.

Prittle Brook
The Prittle Brook is a brook in Essex, England. It appears to rise in Thundersley, just to the west of West Wood. Travelling eastwards, it flows through West Wood, then briefly under some properties before crossing Daws Heath Road. It then flows through private property before reaching Dodds Grove Nature Reserve and then into Great Wood, Belfairs Wood.
Southend Central Museum
The Central Museum is a museum in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. The museum houses collections of local and natural history and contains a planetarium constructed by astronomer Harry Ford in 1984 . The museum was opened in April 1981 in a Grade II listed building that was previously Southend's first free public library. The library service had moved to a new purpose built site on Victoria Avenue, which opened on 20th March 1974 .
Roots Hall
Roots Hall is the home ground of the English Football League Two club Southend United. With a capacity of 12,392 Roots Hall is the largest football stadium in Essex, and is the current venue for the final of the Essex Senior Cup. Southend United are due to move out of Roots Hall into a new 22,000 seat stadium, though work has yet to begin on the new stadium.
Southend Victoria railway station
Southend Victoria is one of two major railway stations in the town of Southend-on-Sea in Essex, England. The station is the terminus of the Shenfield to Southend Line, which is a branch of the Great Eastern Main Line. Most services operate to and from London Liverpool Street and are operated by Greater Anglia. The nearby Southend Central station provides services to London Fenchurch Street, operated by c2c.

Chalkwell
Chalkwell is an area in the Southend-on-Sea borough and unitary district in Essex, England. It forms part of the built-up area of Southend-on-Sea and is included in the Westcliff-on-Sea post town. The Crow Stone, which stands on the mud on the estuary foreshore opposite the end of Chalkwell Avenue, marks the limit of the Port of London Authority's jurisdiction. It was erected in 1837 and replaced a smaller stone, dating from 1755.

Camp Bling
Camp Bling, the long running UK based road protest camp was set up in Southend-on-Sea in Essex during September 2005 to obstruct a £25m plan to widen the Priory Crescent section of the A1159 road over the Royal Saxon tomb in Prittlewell. In April 2009 the authority announced that plans to build the road had been abandoned and the camp was disbanded in July 2009.

Southend Hospital
Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is an NHS hospital located in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex. In 1887, to celebrate Queen Victoria's Jubilee, a public fund was started with the aim of building a hospital and site for Southend's first hospital was bought for £350 (in Warrior Square near to Southend High Street). Built for £1,287.4s.6d Southend Victoria Hospital was opened in May 1888.
Prittlewell Priory
Prittlewell Priory is a medieval priory in the Prittlewell area of Southend, Essex, England. It was founded in the 12th century, by monks from the Cluniac Priory of St Pancras and passed into private hands at the time of the dissolution of the monasteries under Henry VIII. The last private owner, R A Jones, gave the priory and the grounds to the local council. The grounds now form a public park, Priory Park, and the Grade I listed building is open to the public.
