Smithills Hall
Smithills Hall is a Grade I listed manor house, and a Scheduled Monument in the township of Halliwell, now in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. it stands on the slopes of the moors above Bolton at a height of 500 feet, two miles north west of the town centre. It occupies a defensive site near the Astley and Raveden Brooks.

Eagley F.C. is an association football club based in the village of Eagley, near Bolton in Greater Manchester. It is a member of the Lancashire Football Association, and in the 2012–13 season its senior team is playing in the West Lancashire League Premier Division, the 11th level of the English football league system. Horrocks Fold
Horrocks Fold is a hamlet in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England to the south of Belmont, Lancashire. It is situated on the southern slopes of the West Pennine Moors north of Smithills Hall. Originally a farm and collection of barns and outbuildings, the site was converted to private residences in the early 1980s. Historically a part of Lancashire, Horrocks Fold is located up an unadopted lane off Belmont Road.
Cheetham Close
Cheetham Close is a megalith and scheduled ancient monument located in Lancashire, very close to the boundary with Greater Manchester, England. The megalith was in good condition until a farmer from Turton sledgehammered the circle in the 1870s. According to an article published in 1829, Cheetham Close was once a druidical ritual place and a Roman road passed 'within two hundred yards' of the megalith. The stone circle at Cheetham Close measured about 18.5 metres in diameter.

Yarnsdale is a small sandstone quarry, also known as Cadshaw Quarry, Grid Reference Number 706.178, situated to the north west of Turton and Entwistle Reservoir in the borough of Blackburn with Darwen, in Lancashire, England. It is used mainly by rock climbers and hikers who use it as a short cut between Turton Moor and the Turton and Entwistle Reservoir, passing the Strawbury Duck Hotel, (famous for Black Sheep bitter), at Entwistle.
Turton and Entwistle Reservoir
Turton and Entwistle Reservoir is a water reservoir in the town of Edgworth, Lancashire. The reservoir's existence is due to the Entwistle Dam. When constructed in 1832 the Entwistle Dam was the highest in Britain; it rises 108 feet from the base. The reservoir contains almost 750 thousand imperial gallons (roughly 3,400,000 litres) and, with the Wayoh Reservoir just below, satisfies around 50% of Bolton's need for drinking water.
