Fred Dibnah
Frederick "Fred" Dibnah MBE (28 April 1938 – 6 November 2004), born in Bolton, was an English steeplejack and television personality, with a keen interest in mechanical engineering. Dibnah was born in a country which then relied heavily upon coal to fuel its industry. As a child he was fascinated by the steam engines which powered the many textile mills in Bolton, but he paid particular attention to chimneys and the men who worked on them.

Burnden Park
Burnden Park was the home of English football club Bolton Wanderers who played home games here between 1895 and 1997. As well as hosting an FA Cup Final replay it was the scene of one of the greatest disasters in English football and the subject of an L. S. Lowry painting before it was demolished in 1999.
Moses Gate railway station
Moses Gate railway station serves the Moses Gate suburb of Farnworth in the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. It lies on the Manchester-Preston Line, though only local services run by Northern Rail call here. Until the late 1970s (see British Rail Timetable 1973, 1974 and 1978), Moses Gate was one of the more important stations on the line between Manchester Victoria and Bolton, with Sunday service and high patronage.
Burnden Park disaster
The Burnden Park Disaster was a human crush that occurred on 9 March 1946 at Burnden Park football stadium, the home of Bolton Wanderers. The crush resulted in the deaths of 33 people and injuries to hundreds of Bolton fans. It was the deadliest stadium-related disaster in British history until the Ibrox Park disaster in 1971. The match, an FA Cup Quarter-final second-leg tie between Bolton and Stoke City was allowed to continue with the game ending goalless.
St Stephen and All Martyrs' Church, Lever Bridge
St Stephen and All Martyrs' Church, Lever Bridge, is in Darcy Lever, Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Walmsley, the archdeaconry of Bolton, and the diocese of Manchester. The church has been designated a Grade II* listed building by English Heritage, and is the first of three "pot churches" designed by Edmund Sharpe, so-called because they are constructed largely of terracotta.
