Chris Gueffroy

Chris Gueffroy (June 21, 1968, Pasewalk, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern – February 6, 1989) was the last person to be shot while trying to escape to West Berlin across the Berlin Wall. He is often erroneously named as the last person to die in the attempt to cross the wall, but he was in fact only the last to be killed through the use of weapons, and the second-last to die in an escape attempt.

Karl-Marx-Straße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the U7. The station was opened in 1926 as "Bergstrasse" (arch. Grenander) and renamed in 1946, although Karl Marx was a hero of the socialist republic of East Germany the station is in former West-Berlin. 1968 the station was elongated to 105m, due to this a lot of the original appearance was lost. 1993 parts of the platform fell into the rail track so that the station had to be closed for a few days.

Berlin-Neukölln station

Berlin-Neukölln is a railway station in the district of Berlin with the same name. It is served by the S-Bahn lines S41, S42, S45, S46 and S47 and the U-Bahn line U7. Opened in 1930 and built by A. Grenander people could easily transfer to the near S-Bahnstation. Until 1961 the station name was added Südring to refer to the S-Bahn. However after the Berlin Wall was built, and as the S-Bahn was in charge by the GDR government the addition Südring was deleted.

Leinestraße (also spelled Leinestraße) is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the U8. The station was built by Alfred Grenander and A. Fehse in 1929. In the 1930s the southern tunnel was extended towards Hermanstraße for the then uncompleted extension of the U-Bahn to Hermanstraße. During World War II the tunnel served as air raid shelter. In the 1960s the extended tunnel was used by Berlin Transport for parking of disused subway trains.

Schloss Britz

The Schloss Britz (Britz castle) is the former manor-house of the historical Rittergut and village Britz, now a district of Berlin-Neukölln. Today it is the domicile of the cultural foundation Kulturstiftung Schloss Britz and includes in his originally reconstructed rooms from around 1880 a museum for interiors of the Gründerzeit. Späth-Arboretum

The Späth-Arboretum (3.5 hectares) is an arboretum now maintained by the Humboldt University of Berlin. It is located at Späthstraße 80/81, Berlin, Germany, and open several days per week in the warmer months. The arboretum was begun in 1879 by Franz Ludwig Späth, owner of the world's largest and oldest tree nursery, when he expanded the garden around his 1874 villa. Berlin city gardener Gustav Meyer designed the arboretum in the style of an English garden.

Teltow Canal

The Teltow Canal, also known as the Teltowkanal in German, is a canal to the south of Berlin, the capital city of Germany. The canal lies in both the states of Berlin and Brandenburg, and at points forms the boundary between the two. It takes its name from the Brandeburg town of Teltow that lies on its course. The canal was constructed between 1900 and 1906 when it was opened by Wilhelm II.
