Free University of Berlin
The Freie Universität Berlin ("Free University of Berlin") is one of the four research universities in Berlin, Germany. Research at the university is focused on the humanities and social sciences, as well as on health and natural sciences. Founded in West Berlin during the early Cold War period and born out of the increasingly Communist-controlled Humboldt University, its name refers to West Berlin's status as part of the free world, as opposed to the Soviet-occupied areas surrounding the city.
Thielplatz (Berlin U-Bahn)
Thielplatz is a Berlin U-Bahn station located in the Dahlem district on the U3. It was opened on October 12, 1913 (designed by H. Straumer) and until 1929 was the southwestern terminus of the line. Across the street are the campus of the Free University and the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society. 1980 a second entrance was built .
Dahlem-Dorf (Berlin U-Bahn)
Dahlem-Dorf is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the U3. It serves the affluent neighborhood of Dahlem and is near the main campus of the Free University of Berlin. The architecture of the station building with its distinctive thatched roof is based on the looks of traditional northern-German farmhouses. It was built in 1913 by the architects F. and W. Hennings. In 1945 it was closed for a few months due to the war. In 1980 the thatched roof of the building burned down due to arson.
Lichterfelde West
Lichterfelde West is part of Lichterfelde in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf borough of Berlin. It was developed from 1860 through 1900 by a wealthy businessman Carstenn from Hamburg and is a remarkable example of 19th-century Villenkolonie, a German concept of settlements completely made up of mansion houses or villas. Lichterfelde West became part of Greater Berlin in 1920.
Berlin-Dahlem Botanical Garden and Botanical Museum
The Berlin-Dahlem Botanical Garden and Botanical Museum (German: Botanischer Garten und Botanisches Museum Berlin-Dahlem) is a botanical garden in the German capital city of Berlin, with an area of 43 hectares and around 22,000 different plant species. The garden is located in the Dahlem neighborhood of the borough of Steglitz-Zehlendorf. It was constructed between 1897 and 1910, under the guidance of architect Adolf Engler, in order to present exotic plants returned from German colonies.

Schloßstraße (Berlin U-Bahn)
Schloßstraße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the U9. With its visible concrete walls partially covered by dark blue, orange and yellow plastic panels, this station is a brilliant example of the 1970s pop-art design. Opened in 1974 by Schüler /Witte, it was planned to be a transfer station between U9 and the to-be-built U10. However until now there is no plan to establish this line.
Berlin Rathaus Steglitz station
Berlin Rathaus Steglitz (in German Bahnhof Berlin Rathaus Steglitz) is a railway station on the Wannsee Railway in the district of Steglitz in Berlin, Germany. It is served by the Berlin S-Bahn, Berlin U-Bahn and numerous local bus lines. The subway station was built in 1974 by R.G. Rümmler. A platform for the planned U10 subway line was built also however it is unlikely that it will constructed (planned to Lankwitz).
Museum of Asian Art
The Museum of Asian Art (German: Museum für Asiatische Kunst) is located in the Dahlem neighborhood of the borough of Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Berlin, Germany. It is one of the Berlin State Museums institutions and is funded by the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. It houses some 20,000 Asian artifacts, making it one of the largest museums of ancient Asian art in the world. The museum is located in the same building as the Ethnological Museum of Berlin.
Berlin Document Center
The Berlin Document Center (BDC) was created in Berlin, Germany, after the end of World War II. Its task was to centralize the collection of documents from the time of Nazism, which were needed for the preparation of the Nuremberg Trials against war criminals. The BDC was under American administration until 1994, when the German Federal Archives was allowed to take control of the BDC.
Philological Library
The Philological Library is the newest component of the campus of the Free University of Berlin. It was designed by noted architect Norman Foster, Baron Foster of Thames Bank in the shape of a human brain, and opened in 2005. The library has become the centerpiece of the university's Dahlem campus and a Berlin architectural landmark. Fritz Haber Institute of the MPG
The Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society (FHI) is a science research institute located at the heart of the academic district of Dahlem, in Berlin, Germany. The original Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry, founded in 1911, was incorporated in the Max Planck Society and simultaneously renamed for its first director, Fritz Haber, in 1953.
Harnack House
The Harnack House in the Dahlem district of Berlin, Germany was opened in 1929 as a centre for German scientific and intellectual life. Located in the intellectual colony of Dahlem, seat for example of the Free University Berlin, it was founded by the Kaiser Wilhelm Gesellschaft (KWG) on the initiative of its first president, the theologian Adolf von Harnack, and of its then chairman, Friedrich Glum.
Gross-Lichterfelde Tramway

McNair Barracks
The McNair Barracks was a US Army installation in Lichterfelde, a locality in southwest Berlin, Germany. The barracks were named after Lieutenant General Lesley J. McNair, an American Army officer who served in World War I and World War II and was killed in an infamous friendly fire incident on 25 July 1944 in the Battle of Normandy. The barracks housed the Infantry and Artillery units of what was then known as the U.S. Army Berlin Brigade.

Berlin-Lichterfelde Ost (BLIO) is a railway station in Lichterfelde, a locality in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district of Berlin. It is served by the S-Bahn line S25, and by RegionalExpress lines 3, 4 and 5. The S-Bahn services utilise an island platform on the north-west side of the station, whilst the other trains serve a pair of platforms to the south-east. There are station entrances on both sides of the station, and these are connected to all platforms by a subway.

Lichterfelde Süd is a railway station in Lichterfelde in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district of Berlin. It is served by the S-Bahn line S25. Lichterfelde Süd is the point at which the S-Bahn diverges from its previous route alongside the main lines of the former Anhalt Railway, continuing as a single track branch to Teltow Stadt. S-Bahn trains stop at an island platform connected to the station entrance by a subway.

Scherk (company)
Scherk was a cosmetics company in Berlin, Germany founded by Ludwig Scherk (1880–1946). In Nazi Germany 1938 he was forced to sell it for a low price for Aryanization because he was Jewish. His son Fritz Scherk (1918–1995) bought it back and started a new production in West Berlin in 1951. In 1969 he sold it to the Alberto-Culver Company.
