1960 Munich Convair 340 crash
On 17 December 1960, a Convair C-131D Samaritan operated by the United States Air Force crashed on a flight from Munich, Germany to RAF Northolt, west London, United Kingdom shortly after take-off from Munich-Riem Airport due to fuel contamination. All 20 passengers and crew on board as well as 32 people on the ground were killed.
Theresienwiese is an open space in the Munich borough of Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt. It serves as the official ground of the Munich Oktoberfest. A space of 420,000 square metres, it is bordered in the west by the Bavaria statue, symbolizing the State of Bavaria, and in the east by Esperantoplatz, a square named for the international language Esperanto. There, a memorial commemorates the victims of the 1980 Oktoberfest bombing. Bavariaring, an orbital road, provides access to visiting traffic.
Stachus is a large square in central Munich, southern Germany. The square has been named officially Karlsplatz in 1797 after the unpopular Charles Theodore, Elector of Bavaria. Munich natives seldom use that name, calling the square instead Stachus, after the pub Beim Stachus, once owned by Eustachius Föderl, that was located there until construction work for Karlsplatz began.
Munich Central Station
Munich Central Station (München Hauptbahnhof) is the main railway station of the city of Munich in Germany. It is one of the three long distance train stations in Munich, the others being München-Pasing and München Ost. The station sees about 350,000 passengers a day, which puts it on par with other large stations in Germany, such as Hamburg and Frankfurt. The mainline station is a terminal station, the subterranean S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations are through stations.
Theresienwiese (Munich U-Bahn)
Theresienwiese is a station of Munich U-Bahn on the U4 and U5 line. It is the closest station to the Oktoberfest grounds on the Theresienwiese. During Oktoberfest, the station handles 21,000 passengers per hour each direction.

München Karlsplatz (Stachus) is an underground S-Bahn and U-Bahn station below the Karlsplatz in central Munich. It is one of the busiest stations in Munich, as it is located at the western end of Munich's Altstadt (Old Town). Karlsplatz is also a stop on the Munich tramway, located on the Altstadtring, the Old Town's periphery road. Goetheplatz (Munich U-Bahn)
Goetheplatz is an U-Bahn station in Munich on the U3 and U6. The stations decor is similar to that of the U3/U6 platform at Sendlinger Tor, but its history is much older than that. Originally it was constructed between 1938-1941 as part of a planned North-South S-Bahn network in Munich, which was abandoned due to the war effort. For this reason, the platform is 135 meters long, significantly longer than that of any other U-Bahn station (usually about 120 meters).

It is one of the most famous events in Germany and is the world's largest fair, with more than 6 million people from around the world attending the event every year. To the locals, it is not called Oktoberfest, but "die Wiesn" - after the colloquial name of the fairgrounds themselves.

Munich Hackerbrücke station is a station opened in 1972 on the Munich S-Bahn network below Hackerbrücke (Hacker bridge) that is close to Munich Central Station. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 3 stationand has a 211 metre long central platform between two platform tracks and is located directly in front of a 3.2 percent drop into the S-Bahn trunk line tunnel.
