General James Inglis Hamilton, (before 1742 – 27 July 1803) was a Scottish soldier. He enlisted the British Army in 1755 and he commanded several regiments. Black Hill transmitting station

The Black Hill transmitting station is a facility for FM and TV broadcasting at Black Hill, on Duntilland Road, Salsburgh, North Lanarkshire, Scotland which is near the town of Airdrie. It has a guyed mast 306.6 metres (1,006 ft) tall, bringing the antennas to a height of 540 metres above sea level. It was built, by the ITA, in 1957 and is now owned and operated by Arqiva. The present mast is the second to have been built at the site.

Shottskirk otherwise known as Kirk O' Shotts Parish Church is a local church located in Salsburgh North Lanarkshire. The church is still operational and is a listed building. Upperton is a village in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, near Airdrie and Cumbernauld, about 20 miles north-east of Glasgow. It was formerly a part the neighbouring village of Longriggend. Until recently it was a site of a large remand camp, which is now closed, and was inhabited mainly by the prison service workers. After the camp's closure it was settled by new inhabitants and the new name was given to eliminate associations with the camp.

Longriggend

Longriggend is a village in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, with a population of approximately 200. It is situated on moorland 8km north-east of Airdrie, in the parish of New Monkland. The village appeared on a map by Pont in 1596, under the name of Langrodge, and on another map by Roy c1754. Slamannan Railway joined Longriggend with Airdrie and the Union Canal in 1840, but its gauge prevented its connection with the Edinburgh & Glasgow Railway.
