Teesside University is a university in Middlesbrough, England. It has a student body of 28,094 students as of the 2010–11 academic year. It recorded rises in applications of 25.1 per cent and 23.5 per cent for degree courses beginning in 2010, the highest such percentage increases of the five universities in the North East of England. The university has a campus in Darlington named Teesside University Darlington.
Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge
The Tees Transporter Bridge, often referred to as the Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge, is the furthest downstream bridge across the River Tees, England. It connects Middlesbrough, on the south bank, to Port Clarence, on the north bank. It is a transporter bridge, carrying a travelling 'car', or 'gondola', suspended from the bridge, across the river in 90 seconds. The gondola can carry 200 people, 9 cars, or 6 cars and one minibus. It carries the A178 Middlesbrough to Hartlepool road.
Esk Valley Line
The Esk Valley Line is the railway line from Middlesbrough to Whitby in North Yorkshire, England. The route follows the course of the River Esk for much of its eastern half. It was designated as a community rail line in July 2005, being one of seven intended pilots for the Department for Transport's Community Rail Development Strategy. Part of the line may be upgraded as part of the Tees Valley Metro project.

Swatter's Carr (Cricket Ground)
Swatter's Carr, also known as the Linthorpe Road East Ground, in Middlesbrough, England held two first class cricket matches http://cricketarchive. com/Archive/Grounds/11/629. html. In September 1864 Yorkshire CCC played Kent CCC and in 1867 it hosted a Roses Match. Yorkshire beat Lancashire by an innings after bowling the visitors out for 97 and 68. The ground was sold for development in 1874 but is now an open space once again.
Linthorpe Road West (Cricket Ground)
The Linthorpe Road West Cricket Ground in Middlesbrough held one first class match July 1882 when Yorkshire lost to the touring Australians http://cricketarchive. com/Archive/Scorecards/2/2603. html. The ground was opened in 1875 and Middlesbrough Cricket Club played there until 1893. The ground was also used by Middlesbrough Football Club until they moved to Ayresome Park in 1903. The ground has since been lost to building development.
Cleveland Centre, Middlesbrough
The Cleveland Centre, Middlesbrough, formerly The Mall, is a shopping centre that serves the town of Middlesbrough, north east England, and is owned TF&C Reit Company. It was called The Cleveland Shopping Centre since its opening in the 1970s until new owners named it The Mall. It was announced in September 2011 that The Mall had been sold for over £80 million to the F&C Reit Company, and that the name has been changed back to The Cleveland Centre as of April 2012.
