Meaford, Staffordshire
Meaford is a landmark hamlet in the English county of Staffordshire. It lies at the junction of the A34 and A51 roads, north of the town of Stone. It is on the River Trent, while Meaford Lock is on the Trent and Mersey Canal. Meaford's most famous son is John Jervis, 1st Earl of St Vincent, the naval hero (see below).
Downs Banks
Downs Bank is an area of open countryside, located two miles (3 km) north of the town of Stone in Staffordshire, and four miles (6 km) south of the city of Stoke-on-Trent. It is owned and managed by the National Trust. The property is also known as 'Barlaston Downs' .
Stone Rural District
Stone Rural District was a rural district in Staffordshire, England. It was created in 1894 and abolished by virtue of the Local Government Act 1972 in 1974. It was originally formed of the civil parishes of Barlaston, Chebsey, Cold Norton, Eccleshall, Milwich, Sandon, Standon, Stone Rural, Swynnerton and Trentham. In 1897 two new civil parishes were added, Fulford and Hilderstone.
Meaford Hall, Staffordshire
Meaford Hall in Staffordshire, England is a 17th century country house near Stone, Staffordshire. The River Trent runs through the estate's meadow. On the river was one round and one three-sided half-turret. It is a Grade II* listed building that reached as much as 156 feet long by 45 feet wide with a basement, ground floor and second floor. The hall consisted of two building with a chamber, work room and bedroom.

Dorlestone Hall was a manor house in Dorlestone or Darlaston, Stone, England. Richard Barnfield died here in 1627. The Hall was built prior to the Reformation, when its ownership passed from Burton Abbey to a merchant named James Collier. In 1951 it belonged to the Meakin family and was later demolished.

Lichfield Road is a cricket ground in Stone, Staffordshire. The ground was established in 1948, when Staffordshire played Buckinghamshire in the grounds first Minor Counties Championship match. From 1948 to the present day, it has hosted 43 Minor Counties Championship matches. The first List-A match played on the ground came in the 1973 Gillette Cup between Staffordshire and Dorset.
Oulton, Staffordshire
Oulton is a small village in English county of Staffordshire. The village is located north of the market town of Stone and near to the Trent and Mersey Canal. The village achieved prominent positions in Staffordshire's Best Kept Village Awards in 2009 and 2010. Oulton also boasts the picturesque Downs Banks on its doorstep, and is within half an hour's drive to the Peak District National Park.
