Bickleigh, Mid Devon
Bickleigh is a village and civil parish in the Mid Devon district of Devon, England, about four miles south of Tiverton. It is in the former hundred of Hayridge. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 239. The village lies in the valley of the River Exe at the point where it meets the much smaller River Dart. There is an attractive medieval stone bridge across the Exe. The village is mentioned in the Domesday Book as Bichelei, meaning "Bicca's meadow".
Bickleigh Castle
Bickleigh Castle is a fortified manor house that stands on the banks of the River Exe at Bickleigh in Devon, England. Once considerably larger, Bickleigh now comprises a group of buildings from various periods. A Norman motte castle of the late 11th or early 12th century was dismantled in the mid 12th century. During this time a small stone chapel was built in the bailey. In the 15th century the Courtney family built a mansion on the site and incorporated some of the earlier buildings.

Upton Pyne is a parish and village in Devon, England. The parish lies just north west of Exeter, mainly between the River Exe and River Creedy. The village is located north of Cowley and west of Brampford Speke and Stoke Canon.
Brampford Speke
Brampford Speke is a small village in Devon, 4 miles to the north of Exeter. The population is 307. It is located on red sandstone cliffs overlooking the river Exe. Its sister village of Upton Pyne lies to its southwest, and Stoke Canon is across the river, to the east. To the south is the hamlet of Cowley with its chapel of ease, which was formerly part of the ecclesiastical parish of Brampford Speke. Brampford Speke has a Church of England parish church dedicated to St Peter.
Cadbury Castle, Devon
Cadbury Castle is an Iron Age Hillfort close to Bickleigh, Devon, England. It was later encamped by the Parliamentarian forces during the English Civil War under Thomas Fairfax when he laid siege to Bickleigh Castle. The site is situated some 250 metres above sea level overlooking a series of valleys and down to the Exe Valley. Clear views are afforded of other hill forts including Cranmore Castle, Huntsham castle, Dolbury, Stoke Hill, Raddon Top, Posbury and Cotley Castle.
Thorverton
Thorverton is a village in Devon, England, about a mile west of the River Exe and 8 miles north of Exeter. It is almost centrally located between Exeter and the towns of Tiverton, Cullompton and Crediton, and contains the hamlets of Yellowford and Raddon. It has two churches and two public houses. The population is approximately 900. The Millennium Green provides walking alongside the stream which runs through the centre of the village.
Stoke Canon
Stoke Canon is a small village and civil parish near the confluence of the rivers Exe and Culm on the main A396 between Exeter and Tiverton in the English county of Devon, and the district of East Devon. At the 2001 census it had a population of 660. There is a pub, The Stoke Canon Inn, and a post office and general stores in the centre of the village.
Raddon Top
Raddon Top is the highest point of the Raddon Hills, a small ridge of hills in the Shobrooke area of Mid Devon. The summit is at some 235 metres above sea level, making it a significant feature in the surrounding countryside. There were earthworks on the summit, but by the 16th century these had been ploughed away. Archaeological excavations in 1994 revealed remains of an Early Iron Age palisaded enclosure and an Iron Age hillfort with timber ramparts.
