Droylsden
Droylsden is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside, in Greater Manchester, England. It is 4.1 miles to the east of Manchester city centre, and 2.2 miles west-southwest of Ashton-under-Lyne, it has a population of 23,172. Historically a part of Lancashire, Droylsden grew as a mill town around the cotton mills established in the mid-19th century, and the Ashton and Peak Forest canals.

Gorton North is a local government ward in the Gorton area of the City of Manchester. The ward contains the former Belle Vue (zoo, amusement park and greyhound racing track). Politically, the area is dominated by the Labour party. The Conservative Party is not represented in Gorton. Gorton railway station serves Gorton district of the city of Manchester, England. The station is on the Manchester-Glossop Line and the 2½ miles (4 km) east of Manchester Piccadilly. It was opened by the Great Central Railway (GCR) on 25 August 1906 and replaced an earlier station that had opened on the line on 23 May 1842. From 1 January 1923, the station was operated by the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER).
Manchester Higher Openshaw
Manchester Higher Openshaw was the 15th Salvation Army corps opened in Manchester, in 1903, in Fairfield Road. The corps is currently the home of the Eden Project, a partnership between the Salvation Army and The Message Trust. The project was formed in 2000 by Gary Bishop. Author of "Darkest England & The Way Back In", Gary Bishop lead the project until February 2007 before handing the leadership on to Sam Ward.
Abbey Hey F.C
Abbey Hey F.C. are an English association football club based in the Abbey Hey area of Gorton, Manchester. The club were founded in 1902 and were formerly known as Abbey Hey WMC. They have won the Manchester League on a number of occasions and currently play in the North West Counties Football League Division One. Abbey Hey are full members of the Manchester Football Association and play their home games at the Abbey Stadium.
Nico Ditch
Nico Ditch (occasionally Mickle Ditch or Nikker) is a six mile (9.7 km) long linear earthwork running between Ashton-under-Lyne and Stretford in Greater Manchester, England. It may have been dug as a defensive fortification, or possibly a boundary marker. It was constructed some time between the 5th and 11th centuries AD. The ditch is still visible in short sections, such as a 300-metre stretch in Denton golf course.
Crossbank
Crossbank is an area of Lees, a village in the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, Greater Manchester, England. Historically a part of Lancashire, the name Crossbank is thought to derive from the days of the Knights Templar when a cross was etched into an earthen bank to denote lands granted to them. Prior to 1894, Crossbank had formed a hamlet linked with the parish of Ashton-under-Lyne, and lying within the Oldham parliamentary borough.
Belle Vue Stadium
Belle Vue Stadium is a greyhound racing track in Belle Vue, Manchester, where the very first race around an oval track in Britain was held on 24 July 1926. It is also used for speedway as the home ground of Elite League team Belle Vue Aces since 1988 and since 1999 has British Stock Car Association (BriSCA), the British governing body for stock car racing and banger racing. The stadium holds a number of BriSCA events and has become one of the most popular venues in the North-West of England.

The school is located on the edge of east Manchester, in the grounds of Debdale Park.
Gorton locomotive works
Gorton Locomotive Works, known locally as Gorton Tank was located in Openshaw near Manchester, England and was completed in 1848 by the Sheffield, Ashton-under-Lyne and Manchester Railway. Even in the 1960s the number of men who worked there was large enough to support nine public houses in the nearby Ogden Lane.
Fairfield Moravian Church
Fairfield Moravian Church and its surrounding settlement was founded in 1785 in Fairfield, Droylsden, in the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside, Greater Manchester, England. It was founded by Benjamin La Trobe as a centre for evangelistic work for the Moravian Church in the Manchester area. Numbers 15, 28 and 30 Fairfield Square are Grade II listed buildings.
Debdale Park
Debdale Park is an inner city park, located in the Gorton area of Manchester, England. At around 45 acres, it is one of the largest inner city parks in the City of Manchester. Located in the grounds of Debdale Park there is a large secondary school, Wright Robinson College, and also a bowling green, sports centre and an 18 hole golf course and club. It is also the home to Debdale Outdoor Center which specialises in watersports.

Gorton Reservoirs
Gorton Reservoirs are two reservoirs on the boundary of Tameside and Manchester in the North West of England. They are Gorton Upper Reservoir and Gorton Lower Reservoir. The upper and lower sections are separated by a road supported by a stone bridge consisting of a series of arches. They are owned and maintained by United Utilities. The reservoirs were completed between 1825 and 1826.
Gorton Heritage Trail
Gorton Heritage Trail is located approximately 3 miles from the centre of Manchester and is situated on the banks of Gore Brook. It runs for approximately three quarters of a mile through the Gore Brook Valley Conservation Area, from Sunny Brow Park to Gorton Lower Reservoir. The trail links up several areas that are rich in plants, trees, wildlife and history.
Fairfield, Tameside
Fairfield is a suburb of Droylsden on the A635 road in Tameside, in the English county of Greater Manchester, and formerly in Lancashire. It is just south of the Ashton Canal. In the 19th century, it was described as "a seat of cotton manufacture. " W. M. Christy and Sons established a mill that produced the first woven towels in England at Fairfield Mill. Fairfield is the location of Fairfield High School for Girls, Fairfield railway station and a place of worship.
Alhambra Theatre, Manchester
The Alhambra Theatre in Higher Openshaw, Manchester, England, was opened in 1910, part of the H. D. Moorhouse Theatre Circuit, but it had been converted to a cinema by the outbreak of the First World War in 1914. The cinema was converted into a bingo hall in the early 1960s. The auditorium was finally used as a sporting club,{{#invoke:Footnotes|sfn}} and what remained of the building was used as a restaurant, storage space and glass works.
Peacock Mausoleum
The Peacock Mausoleum is a Victorian Gothic memorial to Richard Peacock (1820–1889), engineer and Liberal MP for Manchester, and to his son, Joseph Peacock. It is situated in the cemetery of Brookfield Unitarian Church, Gorton, Manchester. The mausoleum was designed by the prolific Manchester architect Thomas Worthington. It was made a Grade II* listed structure on 3 October 1974. Pevsner's The Buildings of England describes the memorial as "a large three-bay shrine of white stone.
Brookfield Unitarian Church
Brookfield Unitarian Church, Gorton, Manchester, is a Victorian Gothic church built between 1869–71. It was commissioned by Richard Peacock (1820–1889), engineer and Liberal MP for Manchester and designed by the prolific Manchester architect Thomas Worthington. The church cost Peacock £12,000. It was designated a Grade II* listed building on 3 October 1974. The churchyard lodges and the Sunday School are also listed buildings.
Droylsden Academy
Droylsden Academy is a secondary school in Droylsden, Manchester. It opened in September 2009 on the site of the former Droylsden School, Mathematics and Computing College for Girls which it replaced. The former Littlemoss High School for Boys was also replaced by this school. The school accommodates 1,400 students in state of the art building which were completed in January 2012.
