Audenshaw
Audenshaw is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside, in Greater Manchester, England. It is located on the east side of the River Tame, along the course of both the M60 motorway and the Ashton Canal, 1.8 miles southwest of Ashton-under-Lyne and 4.9 miles east of the city of Manchester. As at the United Kingdom Census 2001, Audenshaw had a population of 13,000.

Guide Bridge railway station serves Guide Bridge, a part of Audenshaw, Tameside in Greater Manchester, England and is operated by Northern Rail. The station is 4¾ miles east of Manchester Piccadilly on the Glossop Line.
Audenshaw Junction rail accident
The Audenshaw Junction rail accident occurred on the evening of 20 May 1970 near Guide Bridge railway station, Greater Manchester, England. A Class 506 electric multiple unit train from Manchester Piccadilly to Hadfield had started away from a signal when a set of points moved underneath the train, causing it to be derailed and throwing the centre carriage onto its side. Two passengers were killed and 13 were injured.
Ashton Moss railway station
Ashton Moss Railway Station served the town of Ashton-under-Lyne until its closure in 1862. The station was located on Moss Lane, at the west end of the town. The railway is still in use for freight although there are no scheduled passenger services. However, the station name may now be given to the proposed Manchester Metrolink extension to Ashton-under-Lyne, to be built using part of the money from the Greater Manchester Transport Initiative Fund.
Ryecroft, Greater Manchester
Ryecroft is an area of Ashton-under-Lyne, a town in Greater Manchester, England. It occupies a western area of Ashton. Originally a farm held by Robert de Wright in 1422 the principal tenent at the will of Sir John de Assheton. It was not until Joseph Stanfield Grimshaw rented the area to Abel Buckley at a half yearly rent of £125 that development took place when Abel and his brother John Smith Buckley built the first of the Ryecroft Mills in the 1830s.

Ashton Moss Metrolink Station is a future station proposed in Phase 3b of the Manchester Metrolink. The station is scheduled to open in the winter of 2013–14 and will be located on Lord Sheldon Way near the Ashton Moss leisure complex and Snipe Retail Park on Ashton New Road.

Audenshaw railway station served the Audenshaw area of Greater Manchester, then part of the county of Lancashire in England. The station was originally called Hooley Hill (Guide Bridge) as the original Audenshaw station opened by the London and North Western Railway closed in 1905.

Scott & Hodgson Ltd
Scott & Hodgson Ltd, was a manufacturer of stationary steam engines in Guide Bridge, Greater Manchester. For instance, in 1914, they supplied an inverted vertical compound engine with Corliss valve gear to Hardman and Ingham's Diamond Rope Works, Royton, Lancashire. This engine is now in the Bolton Steam Museum.
Ashton Club Ground
Ashton Club Ground was a cricket ground in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1863, when Ashton-under-Lyne played All-England Eleven. In 1865, the ground acted as a neutral venue when it held its only first-class match between Cambridgeshire and Yorkshire, with the match ending in a draw. The final recorded match on the ground came in 1943 when G Duckworth's XI played R Howard's XI. Cricket is no longer played at the site of the ground today.

St Peter's Church, Ashton-under-Lyne, is located in Manchester Road, Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Ashton-under-Lyne, the archdeaconry of Rochdale, and the diocese of Manchester. With four other local churches, it is part of the Parish of the Good Shepherd, Ashton-under-Lyne. The church is designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building.
Ashton-under-Lyne munitions explosion
The Ashton-under-Lyne munitions explosion occurred on June 13, 1917 when the Hooley Hill Rubber and Chemical Works caught fire and exploded. The factory was engaged in the production of TNT for the war effort and was completely destroyed. Forty-three people were killed and most of the surrounding area was left devastated.
