Vauxhall Bridge

Vauxhall Bridge is a Grade II* listed steel and granite deck arch bridge in central London. It crosses the River Thames in a south–east north–west direction between Vauxhall on the south bank and Pimlico on the north bank. Opened in 1906, it replaced an earlier bridge, originally known as Regent Bridge but later renamed Vauxhall Bridge, built between 1809 and 1816 as part of a scheme for redeveloping the south bank of the Thames.

Grosvenor Road station was a London railway station located at the north end of Grosvenor Bridge on the approach tracks to Victoria station. Nine Elms Locomotive Works

Nine Elms locomotive works were built in 1839 by the London and South Western Railway (LSWR) adjoining their passenger terminus near the Vauxhall end of Nine Elms Lane, in the district of Nine Elms in the London Borough of Battersea. They were rebuilt in 1841 and remained the principal locomotive carriage and wagon workshops of the railway until closure in stages between 1891 and 1909.

Battersea Park Road railway station

Battersea Park Road railway station was a station in Battersea, South London opened by the London, Chatham and Dover Railway in 1867. It closed in 1916 along with a number of inner-London stations on Main Line. Battersea Park railway station, a very nearby station on a different line out of London Victoria, remains open. Nine Elms railway station

Nine Elms Railway Station in the London district of Battersea was opened on 21 May 1838 as the London terminus of the London & Southampton Railway which on the same day became the London and South Western Railway. The building in the neo-classical style was designed by Sir William Tite. The station was inconveniently situated for travel to central London, with the necessity to complete the journey by road or by the steam boats connecting the station to points between Vauxhall and London Bridge.

St Gabriel's, Warwick Square is an Anglo-Catholic church in Pimlico. It lies within the Deanery of Westminster (St Margaret) within the Diocese of London. It was constructed as part of Thomas Cubitt's 1840-1860 development of the area on behalf of the Marquess of Westminster. Along with the nearby St Saviour's, St Gabriel's was designed by Cubitt's foreman, Thomas Cundy, in the Gothic style and built in ragstone to emphasise the contrast with the Classical stucco of its secular neighbours.

2013 Vauxhall helicopter crash

On 16 January 2013, at 07:59 GMT, a helicopter crashed in Vauxhall, London, after it collided with the jib of a construction crane attached to St George Wharf Tower. Two people died in the incident: the pilot, Captain Pete Barnes; 50, and a pedestrian, Matthew Wood, 39, from Sutton in South London. Five people were taken to hospital and seven more were treated at the scene.
