Clapham Park
Clapham Park is an area in the Borough of Lambeth in London, to the south of central Clapham and west of Brixton. The original Clapham Park Estate was a speculative development by Thomas Cubitt, who bought 229 acres of Bleak Hall Farm in 1825, and marked out plots for building around the new, broad, tree-lined streets of Kings Avenue, Clarence Avenue, Poynders Road and Atkins Road.

It was also known as the South London Hospital for Women and the South London Women's Hospital. Founded by Eleanor Davies-Colley and Maud Chadburn in 1912, it always employed an all-woman staff. Clapham Common Northside
Clapham Common Northside is a road in South West London. One part of it is the A3 which leads to Portsmouth. The 19th century composer Edvard Grieg stayed in a hotel there while performing in London. The architect Charles Barry, who designed the Houses of Parliament, lived and died in the building which is now known as Trinity Hospice. Samuel Pepys spent the last years of his life in a house on this road. Graham Greene, the novelist, lived at 14 North Side.

The Battersea Park rail crash occurred on 2 April 1937, just south of Battersea Park railway station on the Southern Railway, in London. Two electrically driven passenger trains collided on the Up Local line; the second train, from Coulsdon to Victoria, had been allowed into the section while it was still occupied by the first train, from London Bridge to Victoria.
