Dartmoor Railway
The Dartmoor Railway is a 15.5-mile long railway line in Devon, England. From Crediton the line parallels the Tarka Line to the site of the former Coleford Junction. Heading west it then serves Sampford Courtenay, Okehampton and Meldon Quarry. The route is owned from Coleford to Meldon by Aggregate Industries. Freight trains served the ballast quarry at Meldon.

Exbourne is a village and civil parish in the English county of Devon. It lies in West Devon, about 5 miles north of Okehampton. There is a Church of England Primary School which has three classes with about sixty children on roll. The public house is called the 'Red Lion' has undergone an extensive work to make it the heart of the village once again.

Brightley Priory
Brightley Priory was founded in 1133 as a Cistercian monastery. It was built in 1136 and was situated about two miles north of Okehampton in Devon and was abandoned by the monks after only 5 years on their removal to a nearby site which became Forde Abbey.

The Museum of Dartmoor Life (MDL) is a local museum in Okehampton, Devon, southwest England. It covers life in the Dartmoor area. The museum opened in 1981. It is housed on three floors in an early 19th century mill and there is a waterwheel at the museum. The collections concentrate on the social history of Dartmoor and Okehampton from prehistoric times to the present. The museum is run as an independent charitable trust with a board of trustees.
