Launceston railway station was situated in Launceston, Cornwall, United Kingdom. It was served by both the Great Western Railway (GWR) and London and South Western Railway (LSWR). There were actually two stations adjacent to each other, the northern station serving the line to Plymouth, which was built by the Launceston and South Devon Railway (later GWR), and the southern station being on the North Cornwall Railway (for the LSWR) which was operated by the London and South Western Railway.

Werrington, Cornwall

Werrington is a civil parish in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It was formerly in Devon. In Werrington Park is a substantial house built by Sir Francis Drake about 1620. A larger mansion was built next to it on the site of old parish church in the early 18th century (the architect may have been William Kent). The parish church of St Martin was built in 1742 in the Gothic style; the tower is from the old church.

Launceston Priory

Launceston Priory was a priory at Newport, Launceston, Cornwall, England, UK. The priory was a house of Augustinian canons. It received a charter in 1127, replacing an earlier foundation of secular canons at St Stephens. It was dissolved in 1539, and the site levelled. The site was re-discovered in 1886 and 1888 (during the construction of the railway and a gas holder) and excavated by O. B. Peter, thus allowing the plan to be reconstructed.

Launceston Rural District was a local government division of Cornwall between 1894 and 1974. Established under the Local Government Act 1894, the rural district was enlarged in 1966 by the abolition of Broadwoodwidger Rural District, in Devon, to include the civil parishes of North Petherwin and Werrington. In 1974 the district was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972, forming part of the new North Cornwall district.
