The King's School, Ely
King's Ely, which was renamed from The King's School in March 2012, is a coeducational independent day and boarding school in the cathedral city of Ely, Cambridgeshire, England. It was founded in 970 A.D. , making it one of the oldest schools in the world, though it was given its Royal Charter by King Henry VIII in 1541. The school consists of a nursery, a reception class, junior school, senior school, and an international school.

The Diocese of Ely is a Church of England diocese in the Province of Canterbury. It is headed by the Bishop of Ely, who sits at Ely Cathedral in Ely. There is one suffragan (subordinate) bishop, the Bishop of Huntingdon. The diocese now covers Cambridgeshire and western Norfolk. The diocese was created in 1109 out of part of the Diocese of Lincoln. The diocese is ancient, and the area of Ely was part of the patrimony of Saint Etheldreda. A religious house was founded in the city in 673.
Chettisham Meadow
Chettisham Meadow is a Site of Special Scientific Interest managed as a nature reserve by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Peterborough. It is located north of Ely and west of the village of Chettisham in the county of Cambridgeshire. In January 2009 an appeal by the Wildlife Trust to buy Chettisham Meadow reached its target; it had managed the site as a tenant since 1972.
Ely Urban District
Ely Urban District was a local government district from 1894 to 1974 around the city of Ely in England. It was created in 1894 as an urban district of the Isle of Ely and was transferred to Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Ely in 1965. In 1911 it had a population of 7,917 and in 1961 the population was 9,803. The district was abolished in 1974 and Ely became a successor parish in the East Cambridgeshire district of Cambridgeshire.

Ely Theological College was a school in Ely, Cambridgeshire, for training clergy in the Church of England. Founded in 1876 by James Woodford, Anglican Bishop of Ely, the college had a strong Anglo-Catholic tradition. St Etheldreda's Church, Ely
The Catholic church of St. Etheldreda, Ely is a Roman Catholic parish church in Ely, Cambridgeshire, UK. It is part of the Diocese of East Anglia within the Province of Westminster. The church notably contains the shrine and relics of St. Etheldreda, an Anglo Saxon queen and abbess who died on June 23 AD 679 and went on to became one of the most popular of the medieval saints in England. She has even been described as one of "the most significant of all native English Saints."
