Summit Tunnel
The Summit Tunnel in England is one of the oldest railway tunnels in the world: it was built between 1838 and 1841 by the Manchester and Leeds Railway beneath the Pennines. The tunnel is located between Littleborough and Walsden, Todmorden and created a vital gateway between Manchester and Leeds.

Hepton Rural District
Hepton was a rural district in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England, from 1894 to 1974. The district included four civil parishes: Heptonstall, Blackshaw Erringden Wadsworth It was created in 1894 as the Todmorden rural district. It was renamed in the 1930s and survived until 1974, when, under the Local Government Act 1972 it was abolished and became part of the Calderdale metropolitan borough in West Yorkshire.
Stoodley Pike

Stoodley Pike is a 1,300-foot hill in the south Pennines, noted for the 121 foot Stoodley Pike Monument at its summit, which dominates the moors above Todmorden in West Yorkshire. The monument was designed in 1854 by local architect James Green, and completed in 1856 at the end of the Crimean War.

Mankinholes is a hamlet in the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale, in West Yorkshire, England. It is part of the Pennines, and its nearest town is Todmorden in Yorkshire. It has a YHA hostel, managed by the larger hostel at nearby Haworth. Mankinholes is the starting point for the popular trek up Stoodley Pike, "Pike" being a North-country term for a mountain or large hill.

Plans of an estate in Erringden produced in 1761 are the first known work by the land surveyor and engineer Robert Whitworth, who went on to become one of the leading canal engineers of his generation.
Colden, West Yorkshire
Colden is a hamlet in the civil parish of Heptonstall in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, the hamlet consists of scattered houses and farms on high ground west of Heptonstall, above the valley of Colden Water. Colden School is a junior and infants school established in 1878. Colden Water is crossed by two old footbridges, possibly dating from the 17th century.
