Ashley is a borough in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, one mile (2 km) from Wilkes Barre. It was a productive coal-mining area at the start of the twentieth century. Huber Breaker
Blue Coal's Huber Breaker is a landmark located in the borough of Ashley, Hanover Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. This old coal breaker was running until the late 70's and closed thereafter (closed around 1976-1978). Recently, the Huber Breaker was obtained by Luzerne County. Attempts are underway to preserve the breaker and it's adjoining powerhouse as a museum.
