Connecticut Supreme Court

The Connecticut Supreme Court, formerly known as the Connecticut Supreme Court of Errors, is the highest court in the U.S. state of Connecticut. It consists of a Chief Justice and six Associate Justices. The seven justices sit in Hartford, across the street from the Connecticut State Capitol. It generally holds eight sessions of two to three weeks per year, with one session each September through November and January through May.

Cathedral of St. Joseph (Hartford, Connecticut)

The Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford, Connecticut, United States, is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hartford. Dedicated on May 15, 1962, it stands on the site of the old cathedral destroyed by fire on December 31, 1956. Designed by Eggers & Higgins of New York, it rises 281 feet from the sidewalk. The cathedral is located on Farmington Ave. just outside of downtown Hartford across from the Aetna building.

Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts

The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford, Connecticut, United States, was built in 1930 by Dotha Bushnell Hillyer as a "living memorial" to her father, the Reverend Dr. Horace Bushnell (1802–1876), a Hartford minister, theologian, philosopher and civic leader. The center, which seats 2800, was designed by the architectural firm of Corbett, Harrison and MacMurray, designers of New York's Radio City Music Hall.

Hartford Union Station

Hartford Union Station is the main railway station in Hartford, Connecticut, United States. . The historic station building is near the State Capitol Building. It is a Richardsonian Romanesque building designed by George Keller and built in 1889. A 1914 fire required that it be completely rebuilt, and in 1987 the interior was renovated. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1975.

City Place I

City Place I is a 38-story, 163.7 m skyscraper at 185 Asylum Street in Hartford, Connecticut. It is the tallest building in Hartford and the state, and two meters taller than Travelers Tower, built in 1919. City Place I was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and completed in 1980. The majority of the building is office space, though there are various restaurant and retail establishments found on the lower floors.

Corning Fountain

Corning Fountain is a fountain with sculpture located in Bushnell Park, Hartford, Connecticut. The two-tiered fountain was designed by sculptor J. Massey Rhind and dedicated in 1899. It was given to the city by John J. Corning in memory of his father, John Benton Corning (1811–1896), a Hartford businessman who operated a grist mill on the site.

Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch

The Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch is a notable memorial to the American Civil War located in Hartford, Connecticut. It was the first permanent triumphal arch in America, and honors the 4,000 Hartford citizens who served in the war, and the 400 who died for the Union. The arch's first conception dates from October 21, 1879, when a committee was formed, with a competition sponsored in 1881. Commission was eventually given to architect George Keller. It was dedicated on September 17, 1886.

Hotel Bond

Hotel Bond is a historic hotel, built in two stages, in 1913 and 1921, in Downtown Hartford, Connecticut by hotelier Harry S. Bond. It is located near Bushnell Park, and was considered the grandest hotel in Hartford during its heyday. The second section is a 12 story building attached to the 6 story first section. A Statler Hotel opened in the area in 1954, creating competition, and the Bond hotel company declared bankruptcy shortly after that.
