Deepdene (garden)

Deepdene was an estate and country house, located in Dorking, Surrey, England. Originally a property of the Duke of Norfolk, it was sold by the 11th Duke of Norfolk in 1807 to the Hope banking family. The house was remodeled by the architect, William Atkinson, for the banker, Thomas Hope, and the work completed in 1819; it was occupied by his son, the MP Henry Hope from c. 1840. The gardens were laid out in a contemporary Italianate picturesque style.

Ockley railway station serves the villages of Ockley and Capel in Surrey, England and is situated 1.4 miles from Ockley village and only half a mile west of the village of Capel. The Greensand Ridge is an extensive, prominent, often heavily wooded, sandstone escarpment and range of hills in south-east England. It runs in a horseshoe shape around the Weald of Surrey, Sussex and Kent. It reaches its highest elevation, 294 metres, at Leith Hill in Surrey—the second highest point in south-east England, while another hill, Blackdown, is the highest point in Sussex at 280 metres . The eastern end of the ridge forms the northern boundary of Romney Marsh.

South Holmwood is a village in the Mole Valley District of Surrey, England located 7 kilometres south of Dorking on the A24 road. The village is part of Holmwood civil parish. The Church of St Nicholas at Charlwood, Surrey is a Norman church with restorations by William Burges. The church is a Grade I listed building. The Norman church was "enlarged out of all recognition" in the fifteenth century, by the addition of the chancel and nave. Burges was commissioned to undertake restoration in 1858, although work did not begin until 1864 and continued until 1867.
