Morwenstow

Morwenstow is a civil parish and hamlet in north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The hamlet is near the coast, about six miles (10 km) north of Bude. Morwenstow is the most northerly parish in Cornwall. As well as the churchtown, other settlements in the parish include Shop, Woodford, Gooseham, Eastcott, Wooley and West Youlstone. Morwenstow parish is bounded to the north and east by parishes in Devon, to the south by Kilkhampton parish and to the west by the Atlantic.

Hawker's Hut

Hawker's Hut is a historic hut at Morwenstow, Cornwall originally built by the eccentric clergyman, poet and antiquarian, Robert Stephen Hawker (1803 – 1875), close to Higher Sharpnose Point. The hut is located approximately 1 mile from Morwenstow Church. The hut is mainly of timber construction and is partially built into the hillside (earth sheltered) with a turf roof. It was originally built from driftwood and timber retrieved from shipwrecks by the eccentric vicar and poet.

Welcombe

Welcombe is a village and civil parish on the coast of North Devon, England, just north of the border with Cornwall. It is part of the District of Torridge. It is easily reached from the A39 and has a popular beach called Welcombe Mouth, which is a challenge to get to but worth it. Its parish church is one of only four ancient dedications to Saint Nectan. Welcombe comprises several smaller communities including Welcombe Cross, Darracot, Upcott and Mead.

St Nectan's Church, Welcombe

St Nectan's Church is the parish church of Welcombe, on the border of Devon and Cornwall. W. G. Hoskins writes "St Nectan's Chapel was one of the many medieval chapels in the vast parish of Hartland. It lies in unspoiled country, altogether Cornish in appearance and feeling, with views down the combes to the Atlantic. Welcombe was raised to parochial status in 1508, when the church was enlarged by the addition of the north and south transepts.

Marsland Valley

Marsland Valley is a nature reserve situated in two large valleys which straddle the Devon-Cornwall border. It is a designated nature reserve jointly managed by the Devon Wildlife Trust and the Cornwall Wildlife Trust. The reserve is a Special Area of Conservation, as well as forming part of two Sites of Special Scientific Interest; Steeple Point to Marsland Mouth on the Cornish side and Marsland to Clovelly Coast in Devon.
