Silk 106.9

Silk 106.9 is an Independent Local Radio station broadcasting to the town of Macclesfield as well as parts of Cheshire East. It is an FM station broadcasting at 106.9 FM. Towns in the Silk region includes Congleton, Knutsford, Sandbach and Wilmslow. It was part of The Local Radio Company, before being sold to Dee 106.3 in 2009, who renamed the station from its original "106.9 Silk FM".

Sutton Common BT Tower

Sutton Common BT Tower is a radio tower built of reinforced concrete at Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. It is one of the few communication towers in the United Kingdom built of reinforced concrete. It is part of the 1960s 'backbone' network, relaying signals to Heaton Park in the north and Pye Green to the south. The tower stands near the summit of Croker Hill on the western edge of the Peak District national park.

The Cloud (Peak District)

The Cloud or Bosley Cloud is a prominent hill which lies on the border between Cheshire and Staffordshire a couple of miles to the west of the Peak District National Park boundary. At 343 metres in height, it is one of the highest hills in the area. Its heather-covered summit plateau is crowned by a trig point from which extensive views over Congleton, Biddulph, Macclesfield, Holmes Chapel, and the Greater Manchester area can be enjoyed.

Bosley Lock Flight

Bosley Lock Flight is a flight of twelve canal locks, situated on the Macclesfield Canal at Bosley, near Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. The locks are substantially built with stone blocks, and unusually for narrow locks have mitre gates at both ends. They were each built with a side pond, which enabled some of the water to be re-used during a filling and emptying cycle. The side ponds have been disused for many years, but there are plans to reinstate one of them for demonstration purposes.
