Dovey Junction railway station is a railway station on the Cambrian Line in Wales. It is the junction where the line splits into the line to Aberystwyth and the Cambrian Coast Line to Pwllheli. Passenger services are provided by Arriva Trains Wales. Allowing for the inclusion of outlying buildings and signals, it is routinely claimed that Dovey Junction lies at the intersection of three counties, these being the traditional Welsh counties of Meirionydd, Montgomery and Ceredigion.

Ynys-hir RSPB reserve

Ynys-hir RSPB reserve is a nature reserve of the RSPB situated beside the Dyfi estuary in Ceredigion, Mid Wales between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth. The reserve covers 550 hectares and includes a variety of habitats extending inland from mudflats and salt marsh through farmland and pools to oak woodland and hillside scrub. Facilities include a small visitor centre and seven hides. The name means "long island" in Welsh referring to a wooded ridge which was once surrounded by marshland.

River Llyfnant

The River Llyfnant,, near Eglwys Fach in Ceredigion, Wales is a tributary of the Dyfi estuary. The river reaches the hill walk of Uwch Garreg, then plunges over the waterfalls known as Pistyll y Llyn, into the ravine that opens to the Dyfi estuary. Red Kite are noted for circling the area. The Cambrian Coast Line from Shrewsbury crosses the Llyfnan into Ceredigion after Dyfi Junction.
