Eildon Hill
Not to be confused with Eldon Hill, England Eildon Hill lies just south of Melrose, Scotland in the Scottish Borders, overlooking the town. The name is usually pluralised into "the Eildons" or "Eildon Hills", because of its triple peak. The north hilltop (of three peaks) is surrounded by over 5 km of ramparts, enclosing an area of about 16 ha (40 acres) in which at least 300 level platforms have been cut into the rock to provide bases for turf or timber-walled houses.

Eildon is the largest committee area of the Scottish Borders Council, with a population of 34,892 at the latest census in 2001.
Lothian and Borders
Lothian and Borders is an area in south-east Scotland consisting of the East Lothian, City of Edinburgh, Midlothian, West Lothian areas (collectively known as Lothian) along with the Scottish Borders. The area constitutes a sheriffdom, and is also served by the single Lothian and Borders Police and the Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service.
Castle Holydean
Holydean Castle (pronounced "hollydeen") was a castle sited near Kelso in Bowden, 1.25 miles SW of the village, in the Scottish Borders region of Scotland, and the former Roxburghshire. The castle was founded by King David I. It was destroyed in 1276, rebuilt in 1530 by Dame Ker, and destroyed again by the 3rd Duke of Roxburghe in 1760. Very little of it now remains.
Belses
Belses is a village on the Ale Water, in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland the former Selkirkshire. It is situated close to Old Belses, and lies south of St Boswells, west of Jedburgh, north of Hawick, and east of Selkirk. Other places nearby include Ancrum, Ashkirk, Belses, Hassendean, Lilliesleaf, Minto, Old Belses, and Salenside. Belses was the site of a railway station on the former Waverley Line, a double track railway which linked Edinburgh with Carlisle.
