Combermere Abbey

Combermere Abbey is a former monastery, later a country house, in Combermere Park, between Nantwich and Whitchurch in Cheshire, England, near the border with Shropshire. Initially Savigniac and later Cistercian, the abbey was founded in the 1130s by Hugh Malbank, Baron of Nantwich, and was also associated with Ranulf de Gernons, Earl of Chester. The abbey initially flourished, but by 1275 was sufficiently deeply in debt to be removed from the abbot's management.

Mediolanum was a fort and small town in the Roman province of Britannia. Today it is known as Whitchurch, located in the English county of Shropshire. The town was located on a major Roman routeway between Deva Victrix and Viroconium Cornoviorum. The Romans first built a fort which has been tentatively suggested as forming part of the border defences established by Ostorius Scapula around AD 52.

Heath Road is a cricket ground in Whitchurch, Shropshire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1982, when Whitchurch played Singapore in a warm-up match for the 1982 ICC Trophy. Shropshire played their first match at the ground in the 1999 MCCA Knockout Trophy against Cumberland. The following season they played their first Minor Counties Championship match at the ground against Herefordshire.
