Barrandov Studios
Barrandov Studios is a famous set of film studios in Prague, Czech Republic. It is the largest film studio in the country and one of the largest in Europe. Several of the movies filmed there won Oscars. At present the studios are often called the "European Hollywood" or "Hollywood of the East" due to increasing interest of western productions. Noted director Roman Polanski claims Barrandov is the world’s best studio. The studios make an annual award of the Golden Trilobite (Zlaté Trilobit).
Dancing House
The Dancing House or Fred and Ginger is the nickname given to the Nationale-Nederlanden building in Prague, Czech Republic, at Rašínovo nábřeží. It was designed by the Croatian-Czech architect Vlado Milunić in co-operation with the renowned Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry on a vacant riverfront plot. The building was designed in 1992 and completed in 1996.
Barrandov
Barrandov is a neigbourhood in south-west Prague, Czech Republic, located in the cadastral district of Hlubočepy, in Prague 5. It is situated on and around some rock formations above the Vltava river. Barrandov is known for its film industry and the film studios located in the old part of the district. Anděl (Prague Metro)
Anděl is a Prague Metro station on Line B. The station was built between 1977 and 1985, designed in the Soviet style, by Soviet architects and dedicated to the Czechoslovak–Soviet friendship. Its original name was Moskevská, after the city of Moscow; in the same year the station Prazhskaya, named after Prague, was opened on the Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya Line of the Moscow Metro. The station was renamed in 1990 to Anděl, after the nearby Anděl neighborhood.
Velká Chuchle
Velká Chuchle is part of Prague situated in the southwest of the city. It is named after Dagmar Havlová. It is part of Praha 5 administrative district. In Velká Chuchle there is the only Prague's horse-racing track that offers flat racing on most Sundays from April to October. The track was founded in 1906. Velká Chuchle is the site of so-called Chuchle battle in 1881.

Chuchle battle was a student brawl fought in a Chuchle restaurant on June 29, 1881, resulting in several wounds and a general hangover, a swatch of Czech and German chauvinism in the late 19th century, just before the Charles-Ferdinand University was divided into Czech Charles-Ferdinand University and German Charles-Ferdinand University part in 1882.
Smíchov
Smíchov is (since 1909) a district of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, and is part of Prague 5. It is located on the west bank of the Vltava (Moldau) river. Between 1945 and 1989, the district contained a monument dedicated to Soviet tanks in World War II, which was located in Štefánik square. The monument was removed shortly after the Velvet Revolution and a new glass-and-steel building designed by French architect Jean Nouvel became a symbol of the district.
Jinonice
Jinonice is a district of Prague, mostly part of Prague 5, but a small area is part of Prague 13. It is located on the north edge of Prokopské údolí national park. Anděl (neighborhood)
Anděl is a busy crossing and its immediate neighbourhood in Prague 5's central quarter of Smíchov. The name means angel in the Czech language and originates from the 19th century U zlatého anděla (Golden Angel) pub originally named after an angel statue in front of it. The pub's awning painting of an angel was preserved after its demolition and is now displayed nearby. Anděl is an important traffic center.
Dětský Island
Dětský Island (Czech Dětský ostrov — literally Children's Island) is an island on the Vltava River in Prague, Czech Republic. It lies in the Smíchov district of the city. It is mentioned in texts as early as 1355. Until the 18th century, it was called Maltézský Island (after the owner of the Maltese monastery Panny Marie pod řetězem in the Lesser Quarter).
Smíchov – Hostivice railway line
The Smíchov - Hostivice railway line or Prague Semmering is a railway line in the Czech Republic. The line was built in 1868–1872 by the Buštěhrad Railway company as part of its connection between Prague and Chomutov. The line was opened for cargo transport on 3 July 1872. It was used to transport coal and wood to Prague. Transport of passengers followed on 16 September 1872.
Košíře
Košíře is a district of Prague, part of the municipal area Prague 5. It is situated in the valley of the Motol brook between the districts Smíchov and Motol. Košíře became a town in 1896 and was joined onto Prague in 1921.
Barrandov Terraces
Barrandov Terraces is a complex of buildings in the southern part of Prague, Czech Republic. It is dominated by the functional view restaurant Terraces designed by architect Max Urban (1927-31). Barrandov Terraces are a part of the project of Václav M. Havel for the construction of a neighbourhood on the slope of the Habrová hill. The building is owned by the company Barrandovské terasy, a.s. , its major shareholder being Michalis Dzikos.
Faculty of Humanities, Charles University in Prague
Originally founded as the Institute for Liberal Education of Charles University in 1994, the Faculty of Humanities Charles University gained full academic autonomy in 2000. It was established to provide study programs at the Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. levels previously not available at the university. Its main research and academic focus is the Humanities and Social and Cultural Anthropology.

St. George's Convent, Prague
The Convent of Saint George was a Benedictine convent located in the Prague Castle in the Czech Republic. Founded in 973, the convent was next to the seat of ecclesiastical and state power in Bohemia and occasionally the entire Holy Roman Empire, and played an important historical role. Although no longer active, the convent's building and the attached Bascilica dedicated to Saint George still exist; the building now houses the Czech National Gallery's collection of 19th century Bohemian art.
Prokop valley
Prokop valley is a recreational area in south-western Prague, located in the districts of Barrandov, Holyně, Řeporyje, Stodůlky and Hlubočepy. It encompasses two streams, Dalejský potok and Prokopský potok, the latter of which is surrounded by a valley, despite the fact that it is much shorter. The area includes a natural reserve which encompasses a far wider area than the valley. In the valley there was once a limy open-cast mine, therefore a lake and a cave cropped up.
Praha-Smíchov railway station
Praha-Smíchov railway station is a major railway station in Prague, Czech Republic, located in Smíchov, in the south-west of the city. It serves as a major railway station on the Czech national rail network, and is connected to the rest of Prague by its metro station of the same name and numerous tram routes which stop on Nádražní street outside the station. It is also a major bus terminus for lines going to the south and southwest of Prague and beyond.
Palacký Bridge
The Palacký Bridge (1876) is a bridge in Prague. It is one of the oldest functioning bridges over the Vltava in Prague after the Charles Bridge. It was built as the third major bridge shortly after the 1868 opening of the Franz Joseph I Suspension Bridge, designed by Rowland Mason Ordish which was damaged in 1941 and dismantled in 1946. Josef Václav Myslbek created statues of four pairs of legendary couples for the bridge. These were later removed to the grounds of the Vyšehrad.
