Waunfawr
Waunfawr is a large village on the outskirts of the Snowdonia National Park, Gwynedd, in Wales, south of Llanrug. Its population is roughly 1,500 Waunfawr railway station on the Welsh Highland Railway between Caernarfon and Porthmadog adjoins the Snowdonia Park Brewpub and Inn at the southern end of the village. The brewpub is a recent winner of the CAMRY award for a number of its beers and voted best pub in the region for 2012.
Moel Tryfan
Moel Tryfan (1400' / 427m) is a small mountain near the villages of Rhosgadfan, Y Fron and Betws Garmon, in northern Gwynedd. The higher and more famous peak of Tryfan above Dyffryn Ogwen has also sometimes been referred to as "Moel Tryfan" in the past. Moel Tryfan could be regarded as the westerly outlier of the larger Mynydd Mawr. The southern and eastern flanks of the mountain were heavily quarried in the past.
Rhosgadfan
Rhosgadfan is a Welsh village in the county of Gwynedd. It is notable as the birthplace of Kate Roberts, the author of a book of short stories entitled Te yn y Grug. The Welsh TV programme C'mon Midffild was filmed in the village hall, prior to its destruction. The hall was destroyed in a blaze believed to have been caused by arson . Nobody has been brought to justice.
Y Fron
Y Fron is a country village on the South-West side of Moel Tryfan, overlooking the Nantlle Valley, in North Wales, near Rhosgadfan and Carmel, on the tail of Mynydd Mawr, with epic views of Trum Y Ddysgl and Craig Cwm Silyn. During the 19th century (1890's) the nearby mountain of Moel Tryfan slate quarry was a significant local employer. During this time, Y Fron was home to a bustling community and had several commercial outlets; Butcher/Alberta, General store, Shoe shop, Post Office, Bakers.
Carmel, Gwynedd
Carmel is a small village near Y Fron in Gwynedd, north-west Wales. The village is built up mainly of Victorian homes, with a more modern area. The village has its own school and a couple of shops, one a general store (Siop Doris) and the other a Post House. The village also contains a number of chapels, which are gradually closing down and some being converted into homes. There are a number of other businesses including a driving school and a garage. Nearby villages are Penygroes and Groeslon.

Nantlle is a small village in the slate quarrying Nantlle Valley in Gwynedd, Wales. It lies on the north shore of Llyn Nantlle Uchaf.
Llyn Nantlle Uchaf
Llyn Nantlle Uchaf (Upper Nantlle Lake) is a lake in the Nantlle Valley, Gwynedd, Wales. The lake forms the foreground in Richard Wilson's painting "Snowdon from Llyn Nantlle". Llyn Nantlle Isaf (Lower Nantlle Lake) no longer exists as it was drained to protect the slate works.
