Stodhart Tunnel

Stodhart Tunnel is a tunnel on the Peak Forest Tramway at Chapel Milton, Derbyshire. It is considered the earliest rail-related tunnel in the world. One portal was destroyed by a road re-alignment in 1949, but the other survives. It is Grade II* listed and on the Buildings at Risk Register.

Chinley railway station

Chinley railway station serves the village of Chinley in Derbyshire, England. The station is 17+⁄2 miles south east of Manchester Piccadilly. The original station was built in 1867 by the Midland Railway on the extension of its Manchester, Buxton, Matlock and Midlands Junction Railway which became its main line to London from Manchester.

Dove Holes railway station

Dove Holes railway station serves the village of Dove Holes, Derbyshire, England. The station is on the Manchester Piccadilly to Buxton line 22+⁄4 miles south east of Piccadlly. It is managed and served by Northern Rail who took over the station from First North Western. It was opened in 1863 by the LNWR at the summit of its line between Whaley Bridge and Buxton.

Dove Holes Tunnel

Dove Holes Tunnel is a tunnel built by the Midland Railway between Peak Forest Signal Box and Chapel-en-le-Frith in Derbyshire. In the mid-nineteenth century, the Manchester, Buxton, Matlock and Midlands Junction Railway was jointly leased by the LNWR and Midland Railway, and ran as far as Rowsley. The Midland wished to extend to Manchester to give it a service to London but the LNWR, having its own London line, declined.

The Bull Ring is a Class II henge that was built in the late Neolithic period near Dove Holes in Derbyshire, England. There are also two barrows about 20m away from the henge; one oval, one bowl.

Eccles Pike

Eccles Pike is an isolated hill three mils to the west of Chapel en le Frith in the Derbyshire Peak District. It consists of gritstone, pink in colour at the summit. While not as prominent as the surrounding hills of Cracken Edge and Combs Moss it is popular with walkers. At 370 metres high, it offers good views of Manchester to the west and the Kinder Scout plateau to the east. Combs reservoir lies just to the south of the hill.
