Glossop North End A.F.C

Glossop North End A.F.C. are an English football club based in Glossop, Derbyshire. Former members of the Football League, they are currently in the North West Counties League and are members of the Derbyshire County Football Association. They play their home matches at Surrey Street, which has a capacity of 2,374 (209 seated, 2,165 standing). The club play in blue, and are known as the Hillmen. Between 1899 and 1992 the club were known as Glossop.

St. Luke's Church, Glossop

St Luke's is an Anglican church in Glossop, Derbyshire, England in the evangelical tradition. Along with St James' Church Glossop, it makes up Whitfield Parish Glossop within the Diocese of Derby. The church is situated on Fauvel Road, just a few minutes walk from Glossop town centre. The current building was dedicated on St Luke's day (18 October) 1906. The minister-in-charge of St Luke's from January 2004 to January 2010 was the Rev'd Dr Terry Clark.

St. James's Church is an Anglican church in the evangelical tradition located in the town of Glossop, Derbyshire, in the North West of England. Along with St. Luke's Church, it makes up Whitfield Parish within Derby Diocese. The churchyard contains war graves of three soldiers of World War I. Rev Colin Cooper is the present Vicar of Whitfield Parish.

Glossop Hall

Glossop Hall was the last residential building on the site of Royle Hall in Glossop, Derbyshire. Work started on the penultimate building around 1730 and it was used as a hunting lodge by Phillipa Howard, daughter of Henry Howard, 6th Duke of Norfolk, and her husband. The building as shown was only used for part of the year. Rebuilt around 1870 by Lord Howard of Glossop and sold to the council in 1924 it became Kingsmoor School and was eventually demolished around 1950.

North Road Ground is a cricket ground in Glossop, England which Derbyshire used between 1899 and 1910, during which period the ground hosted one or two County Championship matches each year. Derbyshire have clearly not totally forgotten about the ground, as they have played a Second XI Trophy match at the ground annually since 1997, the 2008 fixture taking place on 4 July against Lancashire. Swineshaw Reservoir (Derbyshire)

For the reservoirs near Stalybridge, in Tameside, Greater Manchester known as Higher Swineshaw Reservoir and Lower Swineshaw Reservoir see Reservoirs in Greater Manchester Swineshaw Reservoir is a reservoir near Glossop, north Derbyshire. In 1837, 50 local millowners and gentlemen, known as the "Glossop Commissioners", obtained an Act of Parliament to construct the Glossop Reservoirs. Hurst Reservoir was on the Hurst Brook and Mossy Lea Reservoir was to take water from the Shelf Brook.
