Maison Blanche (Paris Métro)
Maison Blanche is a station of the Paris Métro, serving Line 7. South of this station, the line forks into two branches, one leading to Villejuif – Louis Aragon and the other to Mairie d'Ivry. The station is under the Avenue d'Italie, between the streets of Rue Caillaux and Rue Bourgon, near the Porte d'Italie, a gate in the former Thiers Wall.

Bicêtre Hospital
The Bicêtre Hospital is located in Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, which is a commune in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. It lies 4.5 km (2.8 miles) from the center of Paris. The Bicêtre Hospital was originally planned as a military hospital, with construction begun in 1634. With the help of Vincent de Paul, it was finally opened as an orphanage in 1642. It was incorporated into the Hôpital Général in 1656. In 1823, it was called the Hospice de la Vieillesse Hommes.
Boulevard de la Zone
Boulevard de la Zone is a street in the XIIIe arrondissement of Paris named from the historical military zone. It has been planted with trees for much of its length of 515m and has an average width of 8m. It runs from the Avenue de la Porte d'Ivry to the Avenue de la Porte de Choisy. It now forms part of the ring-road around Paris, the boulevard périphérique or le périf. One side marks the border of Ivry-sur-Seine from which it was annexed to Paris on April 19, 1929.

Le Kremlin-Bicêtre is a station of the Paris Métro, serving the Villejuif branch of Line 7. It was opened when Line 7 was extended from Maison Blanche on 10 December 1982. This station's noticeable name is actually the name of the commune, which is in its turn is derived from a tavern "Au sergent du Kremlin", a meeting place for French war veterans around 1813, and Bicêtre, an alteration of Winchester, England, the bishop of which owned property here.

The "door to Italy" is the starting point of Route nationale 7 between Paris and Italy, hence the name. It is conveniently located between the 87 and 88 bastions of the old Thiers wall.
