Borough of Brecknock
The Borough of Brecknock was one of the three local government districts of the county of Powys, Wales, formed under the terms of the Local Government Act 1972 from the administrative county of Brecknockshire. The borough comprised the majority of the historic county of Brecknockshire and was in existence from 1974 to 1996, when it was abolished by the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994 and became part of the county of Powys.

Priory Church in Wales School
Priory Church in Wales School is a Medium Sized Primary School in Brecon, Wales, with around 130 pupils. Its musical reputation is esteemed,{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=citation |separator=, |ref=harv |postscript= }} having recently sung as part of a musical in St David's Hall, Cardiff, as well as many performances in Brecon Cathedral. Priory was founded in the late 19th Century, but it was not until the 1960s the school was called Priory School. Previously it had been Pendre.
Brecknock Rural District
Brecknock was a rural district in the administrative county of Breconshire, Wales, from 1894 - 1974. The district surrounded, but did not include, the town of Brecon, which was a separate municipal borough. In 1974 local government throughout Wales was reorganised. Under the Local Government Act 1972 the rural district was abolished and it was combined with a number of other districts to form the Borough of Brecknock, one of three districts of the new county of Powys.
Brecknock Museum
Brecknock Museum is a museum managed by Powys County Council in Brecon, the historic county town of Brecknockshire or Breconshire in Mid Wales. Built off Captain's Walk, The Watton in 1824 as a shire hall, the building later functioned as an assize courts until its closure in 1971, re-opening in 1974 as a museum. One of Brecon's most significant pieces of architecture, the building has been Grade II* listed since 1952.

Theatr Brycheiniog is a modern theatre, arts and community venue in Brecon, the old county town of Brecknockshire and now part of south Powys in Mid Wales.
Afon Cynrig
The Afon Cynrig is a river in Powys, Wales whose headwaters rise in the central Brecon Beacons and flow northwards to join the River Usk at Abercynrig just east of Brecon. Two rivers combine to form the Cynrig just above Cantref - these being the Nant Sere and the Nant Cynwyn. They rise in two magnificent glacially carved valley heads beneath the peaks of Pen y Fan and Cribyn and Cribyn and Fan y Big respectively.
Afon Honddu (Powys)
The Afon Honddu is a river in the county of Powys, mid Wales. It rises on Mynydd Epynt and flows southwards to join the River Usk at Brecon. The river has no major tributaries but acquires numerous streams during its 11-mile course. The valley of the Honddu is followed by the B4520 road which runs north from Brecon to Builth Wells. The road serves the hamlets of Upper Chapel, Lower Chapel, Pwllgloyw and Llandefaelog each of which, Pwllgloyw apart, sit at bridging points of the Honddu.
South Wales Borderers Museum
The South Wales Borderers Museum is located at Brecon in Wales and is the regimental museum of the 24th Regiment of Foot. The museum's collection is made up of artefacts collected from a variety of sources from around the world and which display the regiment's 300 year history.
Brecon transmitting station
The Brecon transmitting station was originally built by the IBA in 1970 as a relay for VHF 405-line analogue television: one of the last 405-line TV stations to be built in Britain. As built, it consisted of a 46 m guyed lattice mast carrying the aerials at the top. This structure was built about 300 m NW of Slwch Tump Iron Age hill fort on the slopes of a 240 m hill known as "The Slwch" overlooking the town.
