Rhymney Valley
The Rhymney Valley is a valley encompassing the villages of Abertysswg, Fochriw, Pontlottyn, Tirphil, New Tredegar, Aberbargoed, Rhymney, and Ystrad Mynach, and the towns of Bargoed and Caerphilly, in south-east Wales, formerly famous for its coal mining and iron industries.
Pengam railway station
Pengam railway station is situated in Pengam on the Rhymney Line of the Valley Lines network in South Wales. The train service is 4 trains per hour south to Cardiff Central and onwards to Penarth. Northwards there are 3 trains an hour terminating at Bargoed with one train per hour continuing to Rhymney. It is also the nearest station to the town of Blackwood. Pengam is the 2nd busiest station on the Rhymney Line, after Caerphilly.

Bargoed railway station serves the town of Bargoed in the county borough of Caerphilly, South Wales. It is a stop on the Rhymney branch of the Valley Lines network. The station, which is the northernmost on the double-track section of the branch, has recently seen the reinstatement of a second platform (although it did at one time have three).
Gilfach Fargoed railway station
Gilfach Fargoed railway station is a railway station serving the village of Gilfach, in Caerphilly county borough, south Wales. It is a stop on the Rhymney Line of the Valley Lines network. The platforms are short, and can barely accommodate a British Rail Class 153 train. Passengers can only alight from the front doors of any train calling here, so the conductor on longer trains must give passengers advance notice so that they have time to move towards the front set of doors.

Penpedairheol is a village situated in the Rhymney Valleys, South Wales. It is located between Pengam, Gelligaer, Bargoed, Hengoed and Cefn Hengoed in the centre of Caerphilly borough, in the historic boundaries of Glamorganshire. The translation of its names means the head of four roads. Penpedairheol is frequently known as Cascade.

Aberbargoed Hospital
Aberbargoed Hospital was a National Health Service Wales hospital in Aberbargoed, Caerphilly County Borough, Wales. At closure in 2011, managed by the Aneurin Bevan Local Health Board, it had twenty-eight beds for General Practitioner, respite and continuing care services. The hospital also had a Minor Injury Department. A cottage hospital was built at Aberbargoed by the Powell Duffryn Steam Coal Company in 1909 to provide hospital facilities for employees in the Rhymney Valley.
Aber Bargoed railway station
Aber Bargoed railway station was a small railway station in the valleys north of Cardiff. Opened as Aber Bargoed by the Brecon & Merthyr Junction Railway, the station went through several changes of name before closure. Despite the similarity in the name it is not the Bargoed station now open on the line to Rhymney.
