Bridgnorth District

Bridgnorth District was, between 1974 and 2009, a local government district in Shropshire, England. Its main town was Bridgnorth and other towns in its area were Much Wenlock, Shifnal and Broseley. The villages of Albrighton and Sheriffhales as well as RAF Cosford were also in the district. The district was formed on 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972. It was a merger of the Bridgnorth Rural District, Much Wenlock Municipal Borough and nearly all of the Shifnal Rural District.

The Bridgnorth Cliff Railway, also known as the Bridgnorth Funicular Railway or Castle Hill Railway, is a funicular railway in the town of Bridgnorth in the English county of Shropshire. The line links the Low Town of Bridgnorth, adjacent to the River Severn, with the High Town, adjacent to the ruins of Bridgnorth Castle. The line is one of four funicular railways in the UK built to the same basic design.

Oldbury, Shropshire

Oldbury is a small village in Shropshire, England, situated approximately ⁄2 miles south of the market town of Bridgnorth. It is included in the Bridgnorth civil parish; the civil parish of Oldbury was abolished in 1967. The village remains separated from the town however and has a distinct character. The village is linked to the town by the modern B4363 road, though the original route linking the two settlements is now cut in half by the Bridgnorth by-pass.

Daniels Mill, Shropshire

Daniels Mill is a working water mill used for milling flour, located near Bridgnorth in the English county of Shropshire. The mill has the largest cast iron waterwheel in England, spanning a 38 feet diameter. The present mill worked until 1957 grinding all kinds of grain for animal feed, but ceased operation upon the death of the miller, who is the present owner's father. After a great deal of restoration work, the mill was re-opened in 2008.

Majestic Cinema, Bridgnorth

The Majestic Cinema is the only working cinema in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, England. It opened in 1937, and has three screens, a large screen with around 330 seats and two small with around 80 seats. The upstairs screens previously made up a balcony when the cinema had only one screen. The cinema is now operated by the chain 'Reel Cinemaas'.

Astbury Hall

Astbury Hall is a stately home, with a 320-acre estate, at Chelmarsh, near Bridgnorth, in Shropshire, England. It is the home of K. K. Downing, former guitarist with Judas Priest, who has had a championship-standard golf course built in the grounds, and plans to open a hotel there. The building was destroyed by fire in 1889, and rebuilt by Edmund Southwell (mayor of Bridgnorth, 1895-1897) in in 1891. John Arthur Buston, Master of the Wheatland hunt, lived at Astbury from c.  1911-c.  1937.
