Drayton Reservoir
Drayton Reservoir is a reservoir in Daventry, Northamptonshire, England. The reservoir is accessible from the A361 near the northern edge of Daventry. Drayton Reservoir is a feeder reservoir for the Grand Union Canal. When water is required for the canal the water level at Drayton can drop by 30 cm or more in a day. Drayton Reservoir is controlled by British Waterways and is home to Rugby Sailing Club. It lies near another Grand Union Canal feature, Braunston Tunnel.
Braunston Tunnel
Braunston Tunnel is situated on the Grand Union Canal about 830 yds (760 km) east of Braunston, Northamptonshire, England top lock. Braunston Tunnel is 2,042 yards (1,867 m) in length. Built by Jessop and Barnes, the tunnel has no towpath and is 4.8m wide by 3.76m high. It was opened in 1796. Its construction was delayed by soil movement and it was probably the resulting movement that lead to the tunnel having a slight 'S' bend in its length. There is room for two 7 ft beam boats to pass.
Braunston London Road railway station
Braunston London Road was one of two railway stations that served the village of Braunston in Northamptonshire, England. On the Weedon to Leamington Spa branch line. The station was built on an embankment next to the village's wharf on the Grand Union Canal after the demolishing of a number of houses and a pub that were in the way. The station opened along with the Leamington extension of the Weedon line on 1 August 1895.
St Peter's Church, Wolfhampcote
St Peter's Church, Wolfhampcote, is a redundant Anglican church standing in an isolated position in the civil parish of Wolfhampcote, Warwickshire, England. The church and its attached mausoleum has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. The church stands in a field which contains a number of mounds.
