Tolethorpe Hall

Tolethope Hall in the parish of Little Casterton, Rutland, England, PE9 4BH is a country house near Stamford, Lincolnshire at grid reference TF023104. It is now the location of the Rutland Theatre of the Stamford Shakespeare Company. The hall was the home of the Browne family, a notable member of which Robert (c. 1550-c. 1633), was born there. He was the leader of the Brownists, early advocates of a congregational form of organization for the Church of England.

Ketton was a rural district in Rutland, England from 1894 to 1974, covering the east of the county. The district was named after Ketton. The rural district was formed by the Local Government Act 1894 from the part of the Stamford rural sanitary district in Rutland. At the same time, the remainder of Stamford RSD, which lay in Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and the Soke of Peterborough became Uffington Rural District, Easton on the Hill Rural District and Barnack Rural District respectively.

Little Bytham

Little Bytham is a village and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It lies on the on the B1176, 4 miles south from Corby Glen and 6.5 miles north from Stamford . The East Coast Main Line railway cuts through the eastern side of the village over viaducts. On the edge of Little Bytham to the east is the West Glen River. Further east lie Witham on the Hill and Grimsthorpe Castle estate.

It is located four miles south of Bourne on the A6121 near the Lincolnshire/Rutland boundary, which is partly the River West Glen. The ecclesiastical parish is Ryhall with Essendine and Carlby, part of the Rutland Deanery of the Diocese of Peterborough. The incumbent is The Revd Patrick McKee. The parish church is dedicated to St. Stephen. The current building dates to 1734.

It stretches from the county border with Rutland in the west to the River West Glen in the east. The B1176 road from Corby Glen passes through Careby and on past Aunby toward Stamford. The centre of the parish is near grid reference TF017157 The total population in the 2001 census was 146. The population in 1801 was 65, and had risen to 133 by 1911

The placename suffix, "by", is immensely common in this part of the country, being part of the Danelaw.

Little Bytham railway station

Little Bytham railway station was a station in Little Bytham, Lincolnshire on the Great Northern Railway main line. It closed in 1959. The Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway crossed just north of the station. The GNR were given powers to build a junction but never did so. The nearest station on the M&GNR was at Castle Bytham. From 1857 to 1884, Little Bytham was the junction for the Edenham & Little Bytham Railway branch line to Edenham.
