Sandhurst, Gloucestershire
Sandhurst is a village just outside Gloucester, England. The River Severn is the border between Sandhurst and the neighbouring parish of Maisemore. The Severn Way long distance footpath follows the river on the eastern (Sandhurst) bank. There are only two roads out of Sandhurst, one towards Gloucester, and another towards Tewkesbury. As a result the village is regularly used as a bypass by drivers hoping to avoid traffic along the A38.
Kingsholm Stadium
Kingsholm Stadium is a rugby union stadium in Gloucester, England, and is the home stadium of Gloucester Rugby. The stadium has a capacity of 16,500. It is sometimes nicknamed 'Castle Grim' after the estate where the stadium is built and also in reference to Gloucester's admirable home form. The main grandstand is an all seated area along the south touchline which can hold around 4,500 people. To the left of the stand is where the away fans are usually located.
Alney Island
Alney Island is an island in the River Severn near Gloucester. The Severn splits into two channels (known as East Channel and West Channel) at Upper Parting (the northernmost tip of Alney), and merges again at Lower Parting to the south. The island is a strip of land in between the two channels, about 3.5 km long (roughly north-to-south) and 1.2 km wide at its widest (east-to-west). Alney consists mostly of low lying farmland, and parts are sometimes subject to flooding when the Severn rises.

A National Grid switching centre, providing power to half a million homes and the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), is situated at Walham. The Walham substation came to national prominence in July 2007, when it was threatened by a major flood.

Twigworth is a small village near Gloucester in Gloucestershire, England. The place-name 'Twigworth' is first attested in 1220, as 'Twigeworth', and is thought to mean 'enclosure made of twigs'. There is a church, dedicated to St Matthew. The poet and composer Ivor Gurney is buried in the churchyard.
Wallsworth Hall
Wallsworth Hall is a stately home in Twigworth, Gloucester, England. The hall was featured in Simon Jenkins (2004) acclaimed book 'England's 1000 Best Houses'. The hall was built on the site of a timbered house from the Tudor period soon after 1740 by Samuel Hayward, as a wedding present for his wife, Catherine. The oldest part of the building faces up towards the side garden and the main front was added a little later.
