Wast Water

Wast Water or Wastwater is a lake located in Wasdale, a valley in the western part of the Lake District National Park, England. The lake is approximately 4.6 kilometres long and 600 metres (more than a third of a mile) wide. It is the deepest lake in England at 79 metres, and is owned by the National Trust. It is one of the finest examples of a glacially 'over-deepened' valley. The surface of the lake is about 200 feet above sea level, while its bottom is over 50 feet below sea level.

St Catherine's Church, Boot, is located in the village of Boot, Cumbria, England. It is the Anglican parish church of Eskdale in the Lake District, and is in the deanery of Calder, the archdeaconry of West Cumberland, and the diocese of Carlisle. Its benefice is united with those of Irton, St Paul, Muncaster, St Michael, and St John, Waberthwaite. The church has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade II listed building. It stands by the side of the River Esk.
