Danycoed Halt, which is Welsh for below the trees, was built by the Gwili Railway as a halt designed for the train to run around and couple up to the carriages for the return journey. Opened in 2001 it is the current northern terminus of the line, but may be made redundant (but reduced to a run-round loop) when the railway extends one mile north into the Cynwyl Elfed station site and then further on up to Llanpumpsaint Station some two and a half miles further on.
