Clifton-on-Trent railway station

Clifton on Trent railway station was a former railway station near North Clifton in Nottinghamshire. It was opened by the Lancashire, Derbyshire and East Coast Railway in March 1897 and closed by British Railways in 1955. It was actually midway between North Clifton and South Clifton, being at the eastern end of the Fledborough Viaduct where it crossed the River Trent. From the station it was a short walk to the river, so it was popular with anglers.
