Briggflatts Meeting House

Briggflatts Meeting House is a Friends Meeting House of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), near Sedbergh in Northwest England, built in 1675. It is the subject of Basil Bunting's poem “At Briggflatts meetinghouse” (1975). Most references use the spelling "Briggflatts", with two 'g's and two 't's. This is the spelling Bunting used for his poem. However, some sources give the spelling of the meeting house with a single 'g': "Brigflatts" or with a single 't': "Briggflats".

River Rawthey

The River Rawthey is a river in Cumbria. The headwaters of the Rawthey are at Rawthey Gill Foot, where Rawthey Gill, whose own source is a confluence at Gill Head on East Baugh Fell, meets Haskhaw Gill. Moving initially northwards, the Rawthey picks up Whin Stone Gill in Uldale before skirting round Bluecaster, after which the river moves south-by-southwest through Cautley.

River Dee (Lune)

The River Dee is a river running through the extreme south east of Cumbria, a part of the Craven region traditionally part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. The river rises at Dent Head Farm on the Dales Way, formed from several smaller streams emanating from Blea Moor Moss, the River Dee makes its way northward past Stone House to Cowgill, where it turns left into Dentdale. In Dentdale, it picks up the waters of Deepdale Beck, travelling north from Whernside before passing Dent and Gawthrop.

The Clough River is a river in Northern England. The river rises at Grisedale in south-eastern Cumbria, where a group of smaller streams draining Grisedale Pike converge as Grisedale Beck. The young Clough River then goes through a short valley (Grisedale, "The Dale That Died"), and over a waterfall before being named Clough at Clough Farm, Garsdale Head, where it enters Garsdale, a valley formed by the river between East Baugh Fell (to the north) and Rise Hill (south).
