WQPX-TV is the Ion Television affiliate for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. It is owned and operated by ion Media Networks (the former Paxson Communications). In 2006, the station owners dropped the oldies radio format in favor of a sports radio format branded as "The Game" with programming coming from Fox Sports Radio and Premiere Radio Networks's Jim Rome.
Houdini Museum
The Houdini Museum was established in 1988 at 1433 N. Main Avenue in Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA. It is in a turn-of-the-20th-century building that has been entirely renovated. Houdini performed in Scranton and did several special challenges there. His brother, Hardeen, also appeared in Scranton and in its sister city, Wilkes-Barre. Documents and letters attesting to this are on display at the museum and on its website. Houdini performed at the Poli Theater for S. Z.

The Mall at Steamtown
The Mall at Steamtown is a shopping center and the commercial centerpiece of Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States. It features nearly one hundred retail and specialty stores. The Mall at Steamtown was conceived in the mid 1980s as the keystone of downtown revitalization, though the project was not completed until 1993. Its opening in 1993 was nationally televised on CNN and attended by then-Pennsylvania Governor Robert P. Casey, Sr.
West Scranton High School
West Scranton High School, is a community-based school in the "West Side" neighborhood of Scranton, Pennsylvania opened to the public in 1935, first as a junior high facility and later as a high school. Rose Sember is the school's current principal, the first female principal in the school's history. The school colors are royal blue and white and the school's mascot is the Invader.

The Scranton School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children is a specialized school located in Scranton, Pennsylvania serving students from Northeast and Central Pennsylvania, USA. Formerly administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Scranton State School for the Deaf was closed at the end of the 2008-2009 school year. All rights to administer the school were transferred to the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf.
Scranton (NJT station)
Scranton is the proposed terminus for New Jersey Transit (NJ Transit) passenger rail service from New York City and Hoboken, New Jersey, via the Lackawanna Cut-Off to Scranton, Pennsylvania. Currently, NJ Transit provides rail service to Port Morris, New Jersey via the Lake Hopatcong station. The proposal is to extend this service to Andover, New Jersey in Phase I; to Blairstown, New Jersey or Analomink, Pennsylvania in Phase II; and to Scranton in Phase III.

Viewmont Mall is a shopping mall located on the northern boundary of Scranton, Pennsylvania with Dickson City off Interstate 81. It is anchored by J.C. Penney, Macy's, and Sears. Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust owns the mall, which has multiple chain restaurants in its parking lot and inside the mall. Old Navy is another major store in the mall, which also has a small food court.
