Marjorie Williams

Marjorie Williams (January 13, 1958 – January 16, 2005) was a writer, reporter, and columnist for Vanity Fair and The Washington Post, writing about American society and profiling the American "political elite. " Williams was born in Princeton, New Jersey to a scientist-turned-homemaker mother and a father who was an editorial director at Viking Press. After attending Harvard for two years, Williams dropped out in her junior year and moved to New York to work in publishing.

Pope John Paul II Cultural Center

The Pope John Paul II Cultural Center, known today as the Blessed John Paul II Shrine, was established to house a Roman Catholic museum and think tank in Washington, D.C. The concept for the center began at a meeting between Pope John Paul II and then-Bishop Adam Maida in 1988. The 130,000-square-foot building is set on 12 acres (4.9 ha) adjacent to The Catholic University of America and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
