Watts Branch (Anacostia River)

Watts Branch is a tributary stream of the Anacostia River in Prince George's County, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. The headwaters of the stream originate in the Capitol Heights area of Prince George's County, and the branch flows roughly northwest for 4.9 miles to the Anacostia, which drains to the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay. The watershed area of Watts Branch is about 6,000 acres in Prince George's County and 5,500 acres in Washington.

Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens

Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens is a National Park Service site located in the north eastern corner of Washington, D.C. , and the Maryland state border. Nestled near the banks of the Anacostia River and directly south of the Baltimore Washington Parkway, Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens preserves a plethora of rare waterlilies and lotuses in the cultivated ponds near the river. Amtrak Railroad Anacostia Bridge

The Amtrak Railroad Anacostia Bridge is a railway-only bridge which crosses the Anacostia River in Washington, D.C. As of 2010, it carries only Amtrak's Northeast Corridor passenger rail traffic. It was the site of the famous "Crescent Limited wreck" in August 1933, caused when the bridge was damaged by the 1933 Chesapeake–Potomac hurricane.

New York Avenue Bridge

The New York Avenue Bridge is a bridge carrying U.S. Route 50 and New York Avenue, NE over the Amtrak, CSX and WMATA rails in Washington, D.C. In November 2009, the District of Columbia Department of Transportation began a two-year $36.5 million project to repair the underside, deck and roadway of the bridge. Funds for the project were provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), and the project is the largest ARRA effort in the District of Columbia.
