Pendine Sands

Pendine Sands is a 7-mile length of beach on the shores of Carmarthen Bay on the south coast of Wales. It stretches from Gilman Point in the west to Laugharne Sands in the east. The village of Pendine is close to the western end of Pendine Sands. In the early 1900s the sands were used as a venue for car and motor cycle races. From 1922 the annual Welsh TT motor cycle event was held at Pendine Sands.

River Tâf

The River Tâf is a river that rises in the Preseli Hills of North Pembrokeshire, West Wales, near the village of Crymych and is around 50 km (30 mi) long. Water drains from high ground above the village, and at one time flowed at ground level across the main Cardigan–Tenby road before falling to the level of the defunct Whitland and Cardigan Branch Line railway station "Crymmych Arms" where, on the UK Ordnance Survey map of 1866 it is shown as the source of the Tâf.

Dylan Thomas Boathouse

The Boathouse is a house in Laugharne, Wales, in which the poet Dylan Thomas lived with his family between 1949 and 1953, the last four years of his life. It was in this house that he wrote many major pieces. It's often thought that he wrote Under Milk Wood here but more recent research suggests that fewer than 300 lines were written in Laugharne. The house is set in a cliff overlooking the Tâf Estuary.

Laugharne Township

Laugharne Township is an electoral ward and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The electoral ward includes the village of Pendine and the stretch of beach called Pendine Sands. At the 2001 census, its population was 2,942 people residing in 1,191 households. It is located on the south coast of Carmarthenshire, just south west of the town of St Clears. Historically, it was the civil parish corresponding to the marcher borough of Laugharne.

Castle House, Laugharne

Castle House in Laugharne, Carmarthenshire, Wales, is a Grade II*–listed Georgian mansion. Described by Dylan Thomas as “the best of houses in the best of places”, it is one of many buildings of note in the medieval township. The house was built around 1730, although remodelled inside and out in the Regency period. It features a three-storey, five-bay facade, with the central three bays projecting slightly.
