Cynghordy railway station

Cynghordy railway station serves the rural community of Cynghordy near Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The station is on the Heart of Wales Line 46¾ miles (75 km) north east of Swansea. The station is located at street level at the end of a gravel track off a lane that is just off the main A483 road. The station had no facilities whatsoever (see picture, right) but a shelter has recently been provided (see station information right).

Sugar Loaf, Carmarthenshire

Sugar Loaf, sometimes called The Sugar Loaf, is a prominence beside the A483 trunk road some 4 miles south-west of Llanwrtyd Wells in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is a popular viewpoint and picnic spot within easy reach on foot from the roadside car parks to the northeast and to the south. There is a stop on the nearby Heart of Wales Line called Sugar Loaf railway station.

Llandovery transmitting station

The Llandovery transmitting station is a telecommunications facility located to the north of Llandovery and east of Cynghordy, in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It has a self-supporting 30 m lattice mast erected on land that is itself about 310 m above sea level. The site was originally built by the IBA, entering service in 1968 transmitting the now-defunct 405-line VHF television system.
