Ripon and Pateley Bridge was a rural district in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England from the late 1930s to 1974. It was created in the late 1930s by a County Review Order, by a merger of the Ripon Rural District and the Pateley Bridge Rural District. The rural district included most of Nidderdale, and villages surrounding and to the west of Ripon. The city of Ripon itself had its own local government.

It belonged to the Grantley family when it was built in the 17th century. Until recently, it was owned by North Yorkshire County Council and used as a training centre. The mansion has 36 bedroom, 15 bathrooms and 22 reception rooms and is split into a two story part and a three story part. Other buildings on the Grantley Estate include The Ellis Building.
