Desjardins Canal
The Desjardins Canal, named after its promoter Pierre Desjardins, was built to give Dundas, Ontario, easier access to Lake Ontario and the Great Lakes system of North America. Although a technological achievement and a short term commercial success, the canal was soon eclipsed by the railway, and Dundas by neighbouring Hamilton.

Nearby attractions include the Bruce Trail, Chedoke Radial Trail, Stairway to Chedoke Golf Course, Iroquoia Heights Conservation Area and a number of other waterfalls in the area.
Princess Falls (Hamilton, Ontario)
Princess Falls is a 7 metre ribbon/plunge waterfall found near the Chedoke Radial Trail in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Best viewed after a heavy rain or snow melt. Also known as Lower Princess Falls. Many of the falls in west Hamilton are accessible from the Chedoke Radial Trail. It is built on what was once the route for the Brantford and Hamilton Electric Railway owned by the Cataract Power Light and Traction Company (later Dominion Power and Transmission).
Parkside High School, Dundas
Parkside High School is located at 31 Parkside Avenue, Dundas, Ontario, and is a member of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HwDSB). The school opened in 1960 and backs onto the Dundas escarpment.
